Texas Radio Theatre
Modern audio drama presented by an award winning group from the Dallas / Fort Worth area. Most productions have been recorded in front of a studio audience. The Texas Radio Theatre Company has been recording since 2001.
Cliff Proton is back in two shorts. The first recorded in 2014 is called "Happy 500th, Doc" and the second, recorded in 2016, is called "Electoral Dysfunction".
There is a bonus "faux-mercial" for JavaStar
"Happy 500th, Doc" was written by Rich Frohlich and featured the voice talents of AJ Glendenning, Jonathan Cooper and Rich Frohlich.
"Java Star" was written by Rich Frohlich and featured the voice talents of Shannan Atkinson, Spencer Prokop and Ken Raney.
“Cliff Proton and the Electoral Disfunction” was written by Rich Frohlich and featured the voice talents of AJ Glendening, Reg Platt, Dona Safran, Libby Mitchell, Jared Mitchell, Larry Groebe, Ken Raney and Rich Frohlich.
Stay tuned for more Cliff Proton, more Schlock.
But wait, there's more! This time we jump into the swamp with the plastic bag leech monsters in Attack of the Giant Leeches performed by the Schlock Audio Theatre. Then we chat a bit with Charles Pratt, co-creator of Schlock Audio.
Get your audio goggles readjusted and prepare to bask in the schlock.
Diving back into the Schlock Audio Theatre archives, we visit with Charles Pratt, co-creator of Schlock Audio, play their treatment of Ed Wood Jr.'s infamous "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and hear Charles' comments afterward.
Be sure to adjust your audio goggles - and may the CHEESE be with you.
The "Ed Wood Jr" of Audio Drama is featured in this podcast: Judson Fountain. In the late 1960's Judson took it upon himself to produced radio dramas for "radioland". He pressed them to vinyl and sent them to area radio stations. Not unlike Florence Foster Jenkins it's the passion of the artist, not the skill level that gives these pieces a curious appeal.
A new feature called MAD-R which stands for "Modern Audio Drama Revisited". First we listen to Colossus of New York produced by Schlock Audio Theatre and Columbia Audio Theatre around 2004. Then we speak with co-creator Charles Pratt about the work and about Schlock Audio Theatre in general.
The Night of the Roku
A Son of Schlock Audio Theatre audioplay
Vic decides to do away with his 8mm films and embrace new streaming technology to show his guests.
Written by Charles Pratt and Richard Frohlich – Recorded, Edited and Produced by Richard Frohlich. Featuring the voice talents of Reg Platt, Susan McMath Platt, Bryan Douglas, Ken Raney, Dona Safran, Libby Mitchell, and Larry Groebe.
It was recorded May 2016 at RF Media studios in Arlington Texas
In the next few shows we plan to go back in time and revisit, resurrect and repost some of the classic Schlock audio theatres produced by the Columbia Audio Theatre – and if possible bring Charles Pratt in to give his thoughts and comments on those productions.
Doctor Who and the Necessary Evil
Set in the time of the 4th Doctor, the Master changes a fixed point in time which threatens the future of the Time Lords. Only the Doctor and Sarah are in the right position to put things right on the infamous planet Skaro.
Written and Directed by Richard Frohlich. Voice talent: David Novinski, Lois Leftwich, Reg Platt,
Larry Grobe, Ken Raney, Dona Safran, Bryan Douglas, AJ Glendenning
Produced in cooperation with the Grapevine Public Library, The British Emporium and RF Media.
Recorded in front of a studio audience October 8th, 2017 at the Grapevine Public Library, Grapevine, TX
The Texas Radio Theatre does not claim ownership of the characters or fictional universe of Doctor Who, nor that the story and situation is part of official story canon. This work is intended only for entertainment, the actors and crew volunteered their time, the performance and resulting recording is available for free and no financial profit was derived from this production. We thank the producers, writers and actors of the Doctor Who series for creating such a rich world where almost anything is possible.
THE LONE RANGER: EPISODE ONE
Before there was Tanto. Before the masked rider of the plains (as we know him) became emblazoned in the history and lexicon of the old West. There was a simple story about a swashbuckling solo avenger who laughed in the face of danger on the savage frontier.
Produced by the Texas Radio Theatre Company in cooperation with the Arlington Museum of Art
Executive Producer Shannan Frohlich
Engineered and Directed by Richard Frohlich
Live Sound Effects Directed by Libby Milliron
Featuring the voice talent of: Earl Browning, Taffy Geisel, Gary Layton, Spencer Prokop, Ivy Pryce, Ken Raney, Suzi Zimmerman, Libby Milliron.
The Texas Radio Theatre Company is dedicated to preserving the art of audio theatre where audience members are invited to create the story's imagery within their own mind.
