Altered Egos Comics Podcast
This podcast is recorded weekly at Altered Egos Comics & Games in Orange Park, Florida. We discuss comics that made it to the shop for that week's New Comic Book Day and look ahead to the next New Comic Book Day. We also take the time to comment on at least one item or topic in an extended format, and our panel ends the show with a few personal recommendations for listeners.
The Altered Egos Comics Podcast celebrates its third year in style with Jonathan and William being joined by Altered Egos Comics & Games Managing Owner Josh Dossenback, and super customer and friend of the show Fred (Just Fred). Together, the take a look at the New Comic Book Day titles for 09/20/2017 and peek ahead to NCBD 09/27/2017.
The Ramble On is extra rambly to celebrate the show's 3rd year, going into topics of all stripes, including the Toys R'Us bankruptcy, favorite comic image for a comic board, and the heinous way to fit more comics into a box.

Accidents of fate and scheduling allow for Jonathan to be joined by William for this week's Altered Egos Comics Podcast. This week, we bring you the first in a multi-part look at the covers and the albums that inspired them.
Wearing many hats (some of which can't even be named), Zane Schott is hip hop historian and appreciator, with deep knowledge of the roots of rap on into its present forms. Badr Milligan is the host of the Short Box Podcast (shortboxjax.com), a Jacksonville, FL based podcast that focuses on comic-book and pop-culture entertainment. Jonathan hosts Zane and Badr, and together they start the exploration of the books, the albums, and if the choice to marry the two together is only a pastiche or if there might be a deeper link.

We bound into November talking about New Comic Book 11/04/2015 for a good long time, because there were a whole bunch of new series. And more coming 11/11/2015.
Since the the episode is front loaded with so much new issue coverage, the Ramble On is pretty short. Carey starts us off with the recent Cullen Bunn Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) and nonsense around Aquaman, fans, fandom, and fanaticism. The show closes with the week's recommendations.

'Tis the night before Halloween, which means it is the night before Halloween ComicFest. The gang prepped the store for the second and less well known free comic book event and settled in to cover New Comic Book Day for 10/28/2015 and a look ahead to 11/04/2015.
Not having a topic for the Ramble On doesn't scare this crew, no sirree. Inspired by the night, the crew stumble through treats for trick-r-treating, comic conventions generally, the North Florida Comic Con particularly, and the retail experience with it all. Finally, they bring on their personal recommendations for the week.
Apologies up front for Jonathan's coughing. He is weak and susceptible to germ warfare, i.e. exposure to the public.
Fred takes time out the Jays and Royals contest to share thoughts and ideas on New Comic Book Day 10/21/2015, and then look ahead to the last New Comic Book Day of October. Carey, Bree, Kevin, and Sick Boy join in, and before giving their recommendations for the week, they all ramble on the loss of letters pages in comics, Fox News and Captain America, and the passing of legendary Sliver Age artist Murphy Anderson.
And here we are at last, the final quarter of 2015, and the beginning of October. Despite the delays of Secret Wars, Marvel's All New All Different line launched on time. And He Who Counts Comics, They That Buy Comics, and the Whiskered One review all of those and every other new series title that made it into the store for New Comic Book Day 10/07/2015 and look ahead to 10/14/2015.
The Ramble On is shorter than the intro this week, but still manages to cover two listener questions. One from Super Fan and Lord of Texas, Zack, about the Boom! The Ramble On starts ramblin' on early, escaping the boundaries of its own section to be peppered throughout the show. The group theorizes, postulates, and just flat out opines about, among other things, Marvel's All New All Different that starts in October, comics we'd like to have with us if we were isolated, DC's single versus collected edition habits, trades versus deluxe collected editions, fan-service writing, and other random topics.

Taking up William's mailed in question from last week, the Ramble On starts of going around the table talking about what our most memorable surprise in a comic has been. The Ramble On also takes on the house ad inserted into most Marvel titles this week, comparing that to DC Comic's wonderful Twix house ad, the angst and emotion caused to the artist and the reader, and actions taken.
Episode 50 this week is an intimate, one-side coversation between you and Jonathan, you listen (and we thank you for that) and he meanders and tries to make a point (which is par for the course). Jonathan cover's titles that made it to the store for New Comic Book Day 09/02/2015, and looks ahead to 09/09/2015.

'twas the night before Free Comic Book Day, when all through the shoppe, Jonathan and Carey were pocasting about the week. The signage was hung around the store, in the hopes that customers would be well aware. April had ended, it was May at last, and the Avengers are in theatres, and we all had a blast.
Jonathan and Carey start rambling almost immediately, talk about items that that came into the store 04/29/2015, what is expected for 05/06/2015, and then talk around Avengers Age of Ultron spoiler free. Look for the full, spoiler filled review at a later date.
