On this episode, we are joined by Alex and Chris Howell the Race Directors of the Dirty Kitten Gravel Race. Alex has been the team manager at Vanderkitten/Entourage Racing. The DKGR is 100% unpaved with the majority of the terrain being secluded gravel farm roads, as well as some dirt/grass double-track sections. The roads vary from smooth, groomed sections to rough, choppy, bumpy areas with the possibility of some mud if there is rain. Website LInk: http://dirtykittengravel.com/ Registration: https://www.bikereg.com/dirty-kitten-gravel In addition to DKGR, Alex and Chris also run CatCamp. A multi-day cycling experience for women of all ages, disciplines, and ability levels in the Catoctin Mountain region of Maryland. Directed by Alex Forte Howell of Vanderkitten-Entourage Racing and Dirty Kitten Productions (Dirty Kitten Gravel Race), Cat Camp is designed specifically for women who are interested in road cycling with a side of gravel riding and mountain biking. This is an opportunity to "get away" from the hustle and bustle of daily life, spend a few days riding your bike and hang out with other kickass women. https://www.bikereg.com/catcamp Follow Dirty Kitten Productions on instagram at https://instagram.com/dirtykittenproductions

Episode 033: One Lonely, Solo This or That
18 perc 35. rész Brian, Joey & Wes
our podcast is geared towards the middle of the pack cyclist. While we talk about races frequently it is usually from the perspective of the average guy or gal. While we love the tip of the spear folks, and some of our listeners qualify, we kinda hangout with the back of the pack - not necessarily by choice. Joey and Wes are both accomplished and respected professionals in the bike industry as shop mechanics, race mechanics and shop operators. I lead bike tours for several companies and spend a lot of time taking people on adventures. I like to say I accidentally became an outdoor guide. We focus on gravel so if you like finishing a ride with sweaty grimy legs and some dirt on your face then this is the place for you. We also cover bikepacking, bike camping, travel by bike and touring and some mountain biking but our real interest lies in that space between the road and the mountain bike. The long stretches of gravel that mountain bikers find boring and road cyclists find, well useless. It’s a small but rapidly growing space that draws a special kind of cyclist - someone that seeks out adventure, is not afraid to get dirty and loves a cold beer and maybe some music at the end of a ride around a campfire.

34 perc 23. rész Brian, Joey & Wes
On Episode 022 we bring all the boys together in the virtual space - Brian is working a bike tour on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive while Joey and Wes lounge in their pajamas. Who do you think is having more fun? We go over a quick and dirty Dirty Kanza recap of the winners and congratulations to the GTD crew of Flirtatious Frankie, Ron and Pascal who all finished on a hot, dry, fast and dangerous course. Well done boys! We answer some listener email and with all the tech issues with remote recording via Zencastr we are saving up the voicemails - but we did go through a few. We talk about cassette and chain replacements and whether or not Allison Tetrick really carries a flask in her gravel races. (Disclaimer: Brian is a HUGE Allison Tetrick fan boy while Joey is not so much so). Congrats to our Strava club leaderboard - you guys and gals are some serious #badasscyclists And we've got discount codes!!!! We answer some listener email and get a last minute update from Flirtatious Frankie before he heads west with the family to DK. And we surprise Dave Pryor and Brett Chadderdon of unPavedPA with a phone call to join us for This or That. Surprisingly enough they were at a brewery, go figure.
