Disney Parks Year in Review 2020, Yes it's finally over.

2020 was a challenge for all of us when it comes to Disney Destinations and we are looking forward to 2021. Each year we do a year in review show for Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line.  This year it's interesting looking at the time line of events with Covid 19 impacting so many things around the world.  Even as we record this Mouse Chat podcast Disneyland in California is still closed with no opening date as we wait on the state of California to allow businesses to re-open.2021 is looking better now that a vaccine is being released and Walt Disney World and Orlando in general is slowly increasing crowd limits.

My Disney Experience is something you will quickly need to know about well before your Walt Disney World vacation.  What is My Disney Experience? Disney World now has an App.  The Disney World App is called "My Disney Experience".  The good news is you can install the Disney APP on your iPhone or mobile device very easily.

My Disney Experience App, Now what?

So you have the My Disney Experience app installed and you are logged in.  The first thing you are going to want to do is to link your Disney World resort hotel reservation to your My Disney Experience account.  This way you can plan and book your Disney World rides using FastPass+ 60 days before your vacation.  You will also want to link up your other friends and family members so everyone can book fastpasses in My Disney Experience.

If you purchased Disney World Tickets on your own and are not staying at an on property resort, you can enter your Disney World tickets by scanning them our typing in the ticket number.  Guests staying off Disney property can book Disney World Fastpasses 30 days before their check in date.

It's important to note that you must have your Disney World tickets purchased and entered into My Disney Experience before you can book fastpasses!

There is a definite advantage to staying on site at a Walt Disney World Resort because you can book your Disney Fastpasses in My Disney Experience well before anyone else who is staying off Disney property.  You can book Fastpases starting at 7 AM ET when your window opens.

How do I book the popular Disney rides in My Disney Experience?

You need to know that people that have Disney World resort reservations that start before your reservation and have a long Disney World Vacation, will get to book their rides before you do.  We recommended that you try and book the popular rides at Disney World for the last few days of your vacation.  Also Disney World loads more fastpasses into My Disney Experience at the 30 day mark.  Listen to our My Disney Experience podcast for our Fastpass strategies.

Beaches Turk's and Caicos resort is an all inclusive family resort located in the crystal clear blue water of the Caribbean.  If you stay in Turks and Caicos it can be pretty pricey, but the trick is to book and stay at an all inclusive resort.  We stayed at Beaches Resort and instead of paying $19 for a drink, it's included.

Lauren and Lisa both went to Beaches Resort in Turks and had fantastic experiences.  We recorded an hour long podcast covering everything about Beaches Resort and what is unique, must see at Turks and Caicos.  We also took out kids earlier to Beaches Resort so we have experienced the resort with friends and also with family.

For the best all inclusive resort in Turks and Caico, we highly recommend Beaches Resort Turks and Caicos.

We started our Disneyland vacation with a tour of some of the Disneyland resort rooms.  The Disneyland Hotel has suites and we toured the Mickey Mouse Penthouse.  This suite is amazing, with a living room, dining room, a main bedroom and on suite and a kids room with a full game room wall of Disney Infinity characters.

Lauren heads to Disneyland Paris for FanDaze, not Fan Days, but both are great ways to describe this fun Disneyland Paris event  It’s Laurens first time to Paris and to Disneyland Paris.  We have to thank John Frost from the Disney Blog for the invitation to Disney FanDaze at Disneyland Paris.  John, Lauren had a blast!  Thank you so much for the invitation to cover Disney FanDaze. Lauren was in Awe as she walked around Disneyland Paris and got to experience the magic for the first time.

I have been lucky enough to be on many different cruise lines over the years and lately cruises are all upping their game.  Norwegian Cruise Lines Bliss is no exception.  The ship is doing Caribbean itineraries but what the Norwegian Bliss is built for is Alaska Cruises.  The Bliss is a game changer for Alaska.  With floor to ceiling showcase windows I can imagine watching the Alaska coast slowing going by as I enjoy a coffee or specialty drink of my choice.  And these lobbies are at the front and also on the sides of the ship, artfully designed into individual luxury living room spaces where a family or group can easily gather and watch Alaska or the Caribbean sea.  This is a very nice addition to the Bliss and something that is missing from most other cruise lines.

We are with Andy and he has the inside scoop on those purple signs you see when you drive onto Disney property.

Magic Kingdom adds two more restaurants, Crystal Palace is now serving alcohol.  With the Disney Dining Plan coming with alcohol by default now, guests want what they paid for.  So as much as Walt wanted the Magic Kingdom to be alcohol free when it originally opened, now there are at least five restaurants that service alcoholic beverages.  Will beer and wine be coming to Disney quick service locations at the Magic Kingdom next?

Disney World filed some paperwork for the old airstrip close to the Magic Kingdom.  Is this just a holding area for some ground work and construction materials on some new rumored Magic Kingdom hotels, or something else?  We have rumors of a Volcano Hotel on the monorail and also rumors of a hotel maybe in the old Ft Wilderness River Country area.  Another Disney World monorail would be nice with the new monorail fleet coming and also a Disney Vacation Club - DVC second tower at the Contemporary resort could be a possibility.

Another exciting Disney World rumor is a new EPCOT hotel behind the Living Seas, (Not Test Track), or also right at the front of EPCOT where the monorail station is now.  I would think the front entrance area would be ideal.  This would be very exciting and a new look for EPCOT.

After 35 years Disney's Night of Joy at Walt Disney World has come to an end.  Disney World used teh event to fill slow park times but those days are gone.  The event moved over the years from the Magic Kingdom, to Disney Hollywood Studios and then finally to Wide World of Sports.  Also with Disney's Halloween Event, Christmas events and other night time special events, the park is already closing a great deal for regular guests.  Will Universal Studios in Orlando pick up the slack?

EPCOT'S Food and Wine Festival

The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is going on at EPCOT and we did a quick run through.  For this weeks show we cover two food and wine items to avoid, but come back because we have a full Food and Wine review coming on a future show.

Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour

We loved this Magic Kingdom tour.  The 3 hour tour starts on main street USA at 8 AM in a nice almost empty Magic Kingdom.  The tour has a wonderful story and a highlight of the tour is the Haunted Mansion.  If you are really into the Haunted Mansion you get to go inside to the ballroom scene backstage.  That part of the tour was amazing.

We also really enjoyed the Tuna. This is Oak-grilled Yellowfin Tuna and it comes with Fingerling Potatoes, Fennel, Haricot Verts, Artichokes, Olive Tapenade.

For dessert we had the Warm Chocolate-Banana Torte with Vanilla Ice Cream and Handcrafted Belgian Couverture Chocolate Crown, which was nice but we liked the Tasting of Gelato featuring Italian Vanilla Bean, Mocha Espresso, and Double Chocolate better.

We really enjoy the Grand Floridian Cafe and actually ate there many times over a few week period. We all had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe and all three are wonderful. What we like about the Grand Floridian Cafe is that it's a hidden Disney gem. The service is always spectacular, it's at Disney's Grand Floridan Resort which is a joy to visit, and the prices are very reasonable for a Disney restaurant. Also there is usually no wait or it is easy to book a dining reservation here. All that adds up to one of our favorite Disney restaurants. • Boat access to the Universal parks is very convenient.
• The Sapphire Falls rooms are comfortable and have a tropical / modern feel.
• There is just one mirror and Lisa and Lauren would of liked to have seen a second mirror to make getting ready in the morning quicker.
• The pool and grounds have a tropical feel and zero entry level at the pool on a tropical beach.
• Unique - They have pure ice in some specialty drinks that they hand cut into ice cubes. WOW - This is at Strong Water.
• The pillows are wonderful.

• The Royal Pacific rooms are perfect for a family.
• We loved how you can quickly walk from Royal Pacific to City Walk and to both Universal parks.
• Comfortable beds, nice room layout.
• The resort is like visiting Hawaii. It's tropical and have a very nice selection of restaurants.

• Universal Orlando Resorts Toothsomes Chocolate Emporium.
• Universal Studios Food and snack reviews.

Creative ways to save for your vacation:

1. Get a travel credit card and pay it off each month. Some credit cards offer sign up bonuses, airport lounge access, hotel stays, and points. Chase has some nice travel credit cards, Hyatt, and also the Disney Visa Card. Or get a cash back credit card and use the money for your future vacation.
2. Using Disney Gift Cards at Target can save you 5%. When using this vacation savings tip for your vacation package it can add up.
3. Disney Savings Account. You can save money in your Disney savings account for your trip. You coudl also book a Disney Vacation Package with a Pixie here at Pixie Vacations and they can make payments for you until your trip is paid off. Our Mouse Chatters here are Pixies and can book your vacation for you.
4. Put away spare change from your everyday purchase. This is the old coffee can idea of saving for your vacation. Just place your change in the jar and only spend $5 bills and larger if you really want the vacation fund to build up quickly.

Breakfast is one of the easiest meals to get something healthy at Walt Disney World. You can grab a yogurt at a quick service or snack cart at Disney World. There are always fruits and healthy options on the Disney buffets. If you plan ahead you can bring your own breakfast items to Walt Disney World. You don't have to have the traditional American breakfast each day at Disney World. We have even grabbed some bananas and protein bars and tossed them in our backpack. Every Walt Disney World Resort room has a fridgerator. So you can bring some healthy options with you, or get a taxi or Uber and head out to Walmart or Publix and grab some snacks and breakfast items for your room.

Disney World Fitness Tip: There is Free Yoga at the Disney Contemporary Resort for resort guests. Watch the sunrise out on the lawn. This makes for an enjoyable morning before heading to the Magic Kingdom. We have also seen Yoga at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

It is key to be active at Walt Disney World, and this is easily accomplished just by attending the Disney parks.

The new nighttime show is ready to open NOW at Disney's Animal Kingdom and we will be heading to Walt Disney World to Facebook live the experience for you later this month.  If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World the first showing of Rivers of Light is February 17, 2017.  Rivers of Light combines the latest technology from state of the art water shows, pyrotechnics, special effects and live performances, all on the water in Disney's Animal Kingdom park.

Rivers of Light Fastpasses are now available to book  start for the nightly 7:15 PM on February 17, 2017

Rivers of Light Dining packages are also available to book.  The Rivers of Light dining package couples a table service meal with special reserved seating area for the show.

You can book reservations at Animal Kingdom's Tiffins and also Tusker House.  The Rivers of Light dining package comes with a non-alcoholic beverage, a main course, and seating for Rivers of Light.  Rivers of Light performances so far have been released up to June 2017

If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, use your Disney dining credits for this package.

You can book this dining package at Tiffins for either lunch or dinner.  You have to arrive no later than three hours before Rivers of Light. Lunch and Dinner is $67.00 for adults and $26.00 for children.

You can book Tusker House for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as part of this package.  Just make sure you book your reservation for at least two and a half hours prior to the Rivers of Light showtime.

You can also pay cash and Breakfast at Tusker House $39.00 for adults and $23,00 for children. Lunch and Dinner is $52.00 for adults and $32.00 for children.  Children are ages 3-9.

Disney has announced the opening date for Pandora and it is May 27, 2017.  This is the same day Universal Orlando Resort opens it's third theme park - Volcano Bay.  So there is so much to see this year in Orlando Florida.

If you have not already heard, Disney has been building Pandora at their Animal Kingdom park in Florida and it's been a good six years since it was announced. Disney is fantastic at story telling so even if you have not seen the Avatar film you will be immersed in this new land.

Disney Parks Blog announces the opening on their website;  "This new land will transport guests to the visually stunning world of Pandora. Here, guests will wonder at floating mountains and bioluminescent plants, and can join the Na’vi on two excursions that take adventure to the next level.

First, the family friendly Na’vi River Journey will send guests through a bioluminescent rainforest. Their journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, Avatar Flight of Passage will offer guests the jaw-dropping experience of exploring the world of Pandora atop a Banshee.

Guests will also be able to dine at Satu’li Canteen, grab a drink at Pongu Pongu or shop for Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more at Windtraders."

We spend four days at Universal Orlando Resort and stayed at several of the Universal Loews resorts and toured all of them.

Universal Cabana Bay is themed after the retro 1950's and 60's.  If you are use to staying at a Disney Value Resort when you come to Orlando, this resort at Universal Orlando is going to take your breath away.  For the same price, or just a little bit more than a Disney World Value Resort, Cabana Bay at Universal Orlando offers so much more.  The resort has two pools and a lazy river.  Also Cabana Bay Beach Resort has a massive fitness center.  This is not a hotel room without the bed and two treadmills.  This fitness center is massive and is not like any resort gym you have experienced.  These rooms have indoor access for most rooms, so pool side rooms have outside access.  The rooms even have VO5.  Oh and by the way there is also a waterslide.  Now with the Lazy River you can bring your own tubes and they will fill them up, or you can get a Cabana Bay logo tube and they make for great souvenirs.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort also has a lounge with a retro feel, a full bowling alley, a 1950's decor Starbucks, a very well appointed food court and very nice hotel rooms.  If you have not stayed at Cabana Bay Beach Resort and are looking for an entry level priced resort on Universal Studios property, this resort is amazing.  It's hard to beat the value of Cabana Bay, but we have several other Universal Orlando Resorts to cover.

The newest Universal Orlando Resort is stunning!  Sapphire Falls has a magnificent lobby and a grand staircase that is perfect for photos.  We all really love Sapphire Falls.  The decor, the colors, the tropical pool area all made us want to book our next Universal vacation here.  The Sapphire Falls bar, lobby, restaurants, are all very inviting.  The rooms also have a modern feel.  These rooms start at $179 per tax off season as of this podcast.  The water taxi also accesses this resort.  Just like all Universal on property resort their is a fitness center with the latest equipment.

For a little bit more than staying at Sapphire Falls you can stay at Loews Royal Pacific.  This hotel is our personal favorite.  Royal Pacific is Hawaii in Orlando and it's so tropical and relaxing.  Royal Pacific even has a Hawaiian Luau on the weekends.

Insider Tip: When you stay here you get the Unlimited Express Pass to the Universal Studios Parks.  This is a minimum of an $89 per person per day value.  If you stayed just one night at Royal Pacific you get two days of Unlimited Express Pass.

There is a tropical zero entry pool, volleyball court, cabana rentals, poolside bar and grill.  Emeralds has a restraunt here too.

We ate in Island's Dining room for the character breakfast.  The food was great and the characters were so much fun.  Gru and Kevin the minion stopped by our table and so did Homer and Bart Simpson.  You never saw so many adults get excited to see the characters.

If you want a hotel with action and non-stop activities you should look into Hard Rock.  This hotel sells out quickly so if you want to stay here you need to book it early.  The rooms are modern, you can check out a guitar from the front desk to practice jamming in your room.  Yes they come with headphones.  There are concerts in the lobby.  Velvet Sessions take place once a month in the lobby and have different groups that you can get tickets to.  Even the pool plays music under the water.  The Palm and the Kitchen are both wonderful places to dine and the resort is covered in rock memorabilia.  The Hard Rock Hotel comes with the Unlimited Express Pass for front of the line access to select rides at both Universal parks.  Also the water taxi stops right out front.  The Hard Rock Hotel is also the closest one to the Universal Parks and you can walk to Universal Studios Florida in about 5 minutes.

All Onsite Universal resorts offer early entry into the Universal Parks for resort guests.  The early entry changes day to day and usually is the Harry Pottery attraction.  This gets you into Harry Potter an hour before regular park guests and this is invaluable.

Portofino Bay is Universal top luxury resort.  Coming in at four diamonds this resort takes you to Italy without the long flight and passport.  The largest rooms on property with very large bathrooms, and the courtyard takes you back to Italy.  There is a Spa, two large pool areas with themed pools.  If you want to eat outside and stroll thee cobblestone streets you are going to love Portofino Bay.  We had dinner and also breakfast at Portofino Bay.  Dinner at Mama's was excellent and entertaining.  Mama came by our table with two opera singers and they sang a few songs to our group.  The family style Italian eatery is Mama's house and even the dishes are miss matched as she takes them out of her kitchen.  If you are looking for a luxury resort at Universal Studios Orlando, or if you have a group traveling or convention group, this resort is perfect.

Sandals has all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, and we got to spend 4 days in Nassau at Sandals Royal Bahamian in January.  What a great way to take a break from winter.

Lisa, Steve and Chris all went to Sandals and we took several travel agents from Pixie Vacations.  There are over 29 room categories at Sandals Royal Bahamian and we are happy to help you pick the perfect room just for you.  We stayed in several different room categories and can give you details on the different accommodations.

Sandals Royal Bahamian is very easy to get to with being about 30 minutes from Miami or an hour and a half from Atlanta.  Access to and from Nassau is very easy and makes for a nice extended weekend for a couple that wants to get away.  The Sandals resort is just 15 minutes from the airport making this a very easy tropical getaway for two.

If you are not familiar with Sandals Resorts, the resorts are all-inclusive.  Your food, drinks, activities like snorkeling, paddle boards, sailing, are included.  Sandals has night time entertainment, and the resorts are located on beautiful beaches.  You can even book a butler suite and have butler service for your stay.  We stayed Club Level so our rooms came stocked with a full bar and concierge available to help book dining reservations, etc.

We also enjoyed the Red Line Spa at Sandals.  I had a hot stone massage and Lisa had a massage too.  The spa at Sandals was excellent and well worth the price.  I would book a spa appointment again for a special occasion.

We loved all the food at Sandals and we had ten people with us and every enjoyed what they had.  From seafood to steak, hibachi, the pub, desserts and snacks.  We are not big drinkers but we did find some wines, beer and pina colada and other specialty drinks we enjoyed.    This resort is perfect for relaxing.  There is a beach, two very large pools with swim up bars, plus quite pools, hot tubs, games, fire pits for night time lounging.  Also there is a private island that is 1/2 a mile away and Sandals runs boats every 60 minutes to and from the island.  The Sandals private island has a pool, swim up bar, hot tub, restraunt, and lots of places to relax.  There are hammocks over the water and a beach on both sides of the island.  You can also have dinner on the private island and schedule a massage out in a cabana on the island.  Please contact us at Pixie Honeymoons and we will get you a quick quote for your all-inclusive vacation, honeymoon, or destination wedding.

The quit pool area is now a full feature pool and has expanded about four times the size and is themed as an old time rock quarry (Boulder Ridge).  It rocks!  There is a new bar and restaurant also opening.  Villas are coming to the Wilderness Lodge and new cabins out by the water.  The Wilderness Lodge cabins have a nice modern feel inside.  The Wilderness Lodge cabins will have fireplaces too.

Tomorrow land - Could the tomorrow land speedway be going away at Walt Disney World?  There is a rumor floating around, but it's hard to tell if this is true.  I love the sound of the gas powered cars.  Also this is many kids first driving experience at Walt Disney World.  Hopefully this rumor is false.

#2 Mizner's Lounge - Order the warm banana tart and order a drink too.  The atmosphere here at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort can't be beat and you can order dessert off the Citricos menu.

#3 Disney's Beach Club Resort - The kitchen sink at Beaches N Cream.  Here is our daughter with a kitchen sink dessert.

#4 Animal Kingdom Lodge - Zebra Domes are very unique and have espresso in them and they are amazing.  You need to eat these as soon as you get them to keep other people away and also they they don't get mussy.

#5 California Grill has a chocolate pudding cake that is so good and makes our best Disney dessert list.

Disney Dine on the go dining plan - $29 per adult and  $12 for kids.  With the Disney dine on the go dining plan you get two Disney quick service meals at the Magic Kingdom.  You have to have lunch before 4 PM and dinner after 4 PM.  The Disney dine on the go plan is only available at the Magic Kingdom.  You get one meal and one drink for lunch and dinner.

If you are planning a Walt Disney World Vacation the traditional Disney Quick Service Dining Plan, or Disney Dining Plan might be a better option for you. We think the average meal price at Disney World at Quick Service is about $15.  Twitter Girl Mandy tested the Disney Dine On The Go plan and saved $4 for the day vs. buying her meals without the plan.  $4 is not a great deal, but for a family of four that's $16 saved.  But if you skip a meal and go on a ride instead or your kids fall asleep, then you are losing money.  Also ask yourself if you normally eat lunch and dinner at the Magic Kingdom?  I like to snack and see attractions so I might eat just one meal myself at the Magic Kingdom.  So for me this new Disney Dine on the go plan is not ideal.  Do the math and also do the math with the traditional Disney dining plans.  Please contact a Mouse Chatter Pixie at Pixie Vacations to help you determine the best option for your vacation.

Steve has left his day job, at least for now, so you can now enjoy even more Disney destination news from Steve and the rest of the Mouse Chatters.  :) We are covering the top must dos at the Magic Kingdom.

1. The Jungle Cruise - The jungle cruise entirely debends on the cast member you get.  But when you have a wonderful skipper this attraction is like no other.  Sharpie loves the Jungle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom and if you can only do this attraction once during your vacation, he recommends a day time cruise.

2. Wishes - The firework show at the Magic Kingdom is a must do.  This show takes place at Cinderellas Castle and is one of the best fireworks shows you will ever see.

3. Enjoy a Dole Whip - To get a taste of the Magic Kingdom stop by Adventure Land and get a Dole Whip.  This tropical treat helps you beat the heat and is very crisp and refreshing.

4.  Haunted Mansion - This classic Disney World ride is a must do.  It's not that scary and makes for a fun family attraction.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean - Another classic Disneyland attraction that is at the Magic Kingdom in a different form is a must see.  I don't normally get a fast pass for this attraction as the wait time is maybe 20-30 minutes most days.

How to save money on your Walt Disney World Park Ticket extras:

Our first Disney World hack will save you money on your Disney World tickets.  To save money on your Disney park ticket don't add the extras like the Park Hopper, Fun and More, etc. when you book your Disney World vacation package.  If you add these extras to your Disney World vacation Package you will have to add it to everyone's park tickets that is on the vacation package because they all have to be the same.  So if you only part of your party wants the Disney Park Hopper option, add it when you get to Walt Disney World.  You will have to add it at one of the Disney park guest service windows.  This way if two of you want to add the Disney park hopper to your tickets and two of you don't want it, no problem.

Save Money with this Disney Dining Plan Hack:

A little know Disney hack that will save you money with Disney dining is to get the Disney Dining Plan during Epcot's food and wine festival.  You can use a Disney Quick Service Dining Credit for three snack items instead of a quick service meal.  During Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival you can get the food items at the different countries around World Showcase for 1 snack credit each.  You can do very well using all three snack credits at one of the food and wine pavilions instead of cashing the quick service credit in for a single quick service meal.  If you have little ones on the Disney Dining Plan you can use their quick service Disney dining plan credits also for three snacks and cash those in for higher priced Disney Food and wine food items.  Your average Disney World Quick Service meal is about $15 so you can get equal value or better trading for snacks during Food and Wine at Epcot.

You have to use all 3 snack credits at one location.  This is a nice way to share with your friends at Food & Wine.

Frozen Dessert and Ice Cream Trick:

Do you more than one kid?  I often find myself buying a Dole Whip or ice cream for both my kids and they eat half of it or less and then it's in the trash.  You can ask to have a Dole Whip split up.  So they will put it in two cups.  Brilliant!

Disney Pin Trading does not have to cost you $100+:

Pin trading is fun but expensive.  Disney pins run about $9.00 and up and by the time you get a lanyard too and ten pins it can add up.  Our kids LOVE pin trading and what we do is we give them 8-10 Disney pins each day that they can trade with Disney castmembers.  But we buy our pins at other places like ebay.  We will by a lot of 50 or so Disney pins (make sure the seller has a good rating).  You can get Disney pins for about $1 each on ebay instead of $9 at Disney World and Disneyland.

Disney glow:

Don't let this happen to you.  You at at Disney World and the nighttime parade or fireworks are about to start.  You have your spot that you camped out in for an hour before the show and your kids are eyeing the carts that keep coming by with all the glow and light up toys at $20 or so each.  Before you go to Walt Disney World, stop by a Walmart or shop on the internet and buy some glow necklaces or glow toys to bring with you.

Save at Disney's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique:

You can have your child made up like a princess at BBB, but it adds up fast.  Most people don't know that you can jut get your hair and makeup done and bring your own princess dress.  This will save you a TON and we have done this with both of our daughters and they loved being princesses for the entire day at the Magic Kingdom.

Free Water:

There is not much free in life, but water is free at Walt Disney World and during a hot Summer day it hits the spot.  Just go up to any quick service dining location and ask for a cup of water.  Want to PLUS it up even more?  Open a Crystal Light packet from your fanny pack and BAM!

Hidden Disney World Lounges:

There is a little know secret at Epcot at Walt Disney World.  There are TWO different private lounges that you can enjoy.  The first lounge is a Chase VISA Lounge that allows Disney Visa card members to enter this lounge area over in the America Pavilion.  The lounge is a nice place to cool off and relax, have a free Coke product on a freestyle machine and plan your next attraction at EPCOT.  Also DVC members can enjoy a DVC lounge at the Imagination pavilion which also has iPads on the tables and some fun seating areas, Coke Free Style drinks are also included.

Join DVC and buy 50 points to take advantage of Disney discounts:

If you buy the minimum 50 point DVC contract (Disney Vacation Club), you can get the Disney discounts: Epcot lounge access, Top of the World Access at the Contemporary, Annual Pass Walt Disney World Discount, and some restaurant and Disney merchandise discounts.

How to get the best rooms at Walt Disney World:

We have stayed at all of the Walt Disney World resorts and also all four Disney Cruise Line ships.  There are certain rooms we like more than others at Disney World and on Disney Cruise Line.  Now remember that you can request a certain room but it's NOT guaranteed.  If you want to know which resorts we like, which room categories, and which Disney Cruise Line staterooms or categories, please send a quote request to Pixie Vacations and as for a Mouse Chatter to help you plan and book your Disney vacation.  There is no extra cost to book with Pixie Vacations so it's a win win and you get personal help with planning your trip.

My Disney Experience Fastpass and Dining Reservation Insurance:

Sometimes you might not be able to get internet access or your Disney World App might not load.  This can be very frustrating when you are trying to determine what Fastpass reservation you need to go to next or what time your dining reservations are.  Also sometimes My Disney Experience might go down.  It's not common but having a back up is easy and something we tell everyone to make sure they do who travels with us at Pixie Vacations.  Just take a screen shot of your Fastpasses and dining reservations.  This way if you walk up to the ride or restaurant and for some reason they say you don't have a reservation and you can't find it or access it in My Disney Experience, just show them the screen shot.

Don't rent a Disney stroller at the park:

A stroller or wheel chair can be convenient or necessary but don't rent these at the Disney parks.  You can rent a stroller at one of many off property companies and they strollers are much nicer quality and they will drop off the stroller right at your hotel.  Please contact us and we will let you know which stroller companies can drop off at bell services and which ones you need to meet at bell services to get your stroller or ECV.  The other advantage of renting from an off property company is that you get to keep your stroller and take it with you everywhere.  It's much easier to take a sleeping child on the bus and to the room after a long day in the Disney parks.  If you rent at a Disney park you have to turn in your stroller when you leave the park and carry your kid to the bus and then carry them to your hotel room.  Please contact a Mouse Chatter to help plan your vacation and we can book your ECV or stroller for you.

There are several new experiences at Walt Disney World

Rent a cabana for $700 at the Magic Kingdom.  These are in Tomorrow land and look like small catering tents.  The insides look nice and modern.  For $700 you can relax, charge your cellphone, and have a Mickey bar.  But for less than $700 you could book a room at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  The Contemporary is just minutes away by the monorail or walking.  I can see how these spaces work well at water parks, but we will have to wait and see if they work in the Disney Parks.Disney World Express Bus ServiceThere is a new bus service (express) for $15 per person.  You get picked up behind the park, and the buses run every 30 minutes.  Multi-day service is also available for less money ($24 for a 7 day pass).  These buses run park to park, so this could be good for park hopping guests.

Avatar Land

One of the most exciting things coming to Walt Disney World is Pandora - World of Avatar will open at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Summer of 2017. The Avatar land is going to make Animal Kingdom a must do Disney park for your 2017 vacation.  We are also hopeful that the River of Light nighttime show will open in 2017.

Disney Spring New Shops and Dining

Wine Bar George - 100 + selections of wine and small bites to eat.

Planet Hollywood - is being completely redone and will reopen in 2017

Paddle Fish - Fulton's crab house has a new menu and new rooftop bar.  This looks really nice and will be open in 2017 at Disney Springs

The Polite Pig - FL quinine, sounds like a higher end Art Smith, but we will have to wait and see when it opens.

Typhoon Lagoon - New Ride

A new water raft ride miss fortune falls will be opening at Typhoon Lagoon and even the lift that takes you up the falls sounds like it will be a fun pre-show.  If you are looking for a Disney World water park, this new ride is scheduled to open Spring 2017.  Also Volcano Bay opens at Universal Studios in 2017 and we will do a full Volcano Bay review when it opens for everyone.

Star Wars Tour at Disney Hollywood Studios

A Star Wars new 7 hours special tour is available at Walt Disney World.  This special Star Wars Tour is available to book at Disney Hollywood Studios and comes with Themed Dining, Character meets, Dessert Party and special seating area for the night time Star Wars Disney Hollywood Studios fireworks and much more.

New DVC

Copper Creak Villas and Cabins DVC will be opening in 2017.  Some of the Wilderness Lodge will be turned into DVC Villas and there are also cabins by the water.  There is also a new zero entry pool coming to the DVC side of the property.  We believe the cabins will be ready for last Summer 2017 but this is not confirmed.  We also think a new table service restaurant might be coming to Wilderness Lodge in 2017 but we will have to wait and see.

We are back from Walt's Disney World's Very Merry Christmas Party and have a review of the 2016 Disney World Christmas Party for you.

The price of the Disney World Very Merry Christmas Party has gone up since 2015 but the price increase might actually be a good thing.  The crowd levels at the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in 2016 are much lower than last year.  This allows you to pretty much walk on the attractions during the Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom.

This hard ticket event at the Magic Kingdom and prices for the Disney World Christmas Party are:

$86.00 - $99.00 runs 7 PM - 12 midnight

Lisa and I both did the Disney College Program in the 1990's but that was a while ago,  So for this Mouse Chat podcast we have a past Disney Cast member that recently did the Disney College Program a few times.  If you want to apply for the Disney College Program you need to listen to this full podcast for the insider track on the process, roles, and advice.  First we want to go over the interview process for the Disney College Program so you can get an understanding of the steps and also of what is required in each interview.

Interview steps for the Disney College Program:

1. First you apply online.  If you get accepted you go on to a web based interview.

2. Web based Disney interview (30-40 questions) - At this stage you take an online timed interview.

3. If you get to the next stage you will have a phone interview.  After the Disney phone interview you can get a call back in a few weeks.

Can you get College Credit for the Disney College Program?

Yes, but this depends on your University.  There are lecture style classes as well as actual classes with tests and homework that you can take.

Where do you live when on the College Program?

There are four different housing complexes you can live at while on the College Program.

Dorms is a website that Disney created to help you pick the housing you want and number of roommates you want.  Some places can hold up to 8 cast members. You can also take Disney classes which again depend on your University for credit.  There are several Disney classes structured different ways that you can take.

Top College Program Apartment Complex: Patterson is our top pick for the apartment complex.  The layout and complex is the newest of the four Disney College Program dorms. Vista Way is the oldest complex and is located across I-4 from Disney Springs.

Do I get paid on the College Program?

Yes as a College Program (CP) cast member you get paid hourly.  But don't expect to save for a new house or for your 401k.  Most of your pay will go to your Disney World apartment rent.

Should I do the Disney College Program?

Having Disney on your resume never hurts and also the experience is amazing!  If you want to work at Disney after college this is also a great way to learn about Disney and the different areas.  It is still very difficult to get a full time job at Disney World and entry level jobs at Disney can make it hard to make a living off of, so use the College Program experience to research what you want to do as a full time career.

What are some of the College Program roles?

The most difficult CP role to get is probably front desk, and transportation (watercraft and monorails). The most common roles are attractions, merchandise, food and beverage, and custodial

Trader Sams at the Polynesian Village Resort is so much fun for drinks and appetizers.  Even the outdoor patio is nice here. Disney Springs Jock Lindsey's Hanger Bar is a fun Indiana Jones themed lounge. AbracadaBar at Disney's Boardwalk Resort is a new creative lounge that has some unique drinks.

What is the best resort at Walt Disney World for Christmas Decorations

We all love different Disney World Resorts.  The Disney Beach Club, The Grand Floridian Resort and Wilderness Lodge are our top Disney World Resort picks for Christmas decorations and to get you into the holiday spirit.  If you can only see one Disney World Resort during the holidays, I would pick the Grand Floridian.  Also Ft Wilderness is fun with a sleigh ride during the holidays.

What is the best Disney character interaction?

For guests we recommend Gaston at the Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland.  Gaston is really funny and interactive.  For a character meal we love the stepsisters at the Grand Floridian Resort  1900 Park Faire for breakfast.

Jingle Bell Jingle BAM show opens at Disney Hollywood Studios to rave reviews

Runs until December 31st at Disney Hollywood Studios.  This holiday show is on and around the Chinese Theater.  The show runs pretty much every night during the holidays. There is also a holiday party for $59 per adult $39 per person which is a nice way to experience the Jingle Bell Jingle BAM show.  We will be going to the Jingle Bell Jingle BAM show in a few days and will let you know what we think.  Early reports are that the show is wonderful.

Avatar Land Opening Summer 2017

Yes, Avatar is almost here!  Avatar opens in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park in the Summer of 2017.  There are two E ticket rides.  The flight of passage is a 3d ride that allows you to ride a banshee.  There is also a river ride that sounds perfect for families that lets you explore the world of Avatar.  Avatar will really make Animal Kingdom a nice park for the evening and night time.  There are is also a new restaurant, Satu’li Canteen, which is the main dining establishment for Pandora and new shops too.

Update River of Light cast member previews are happening now!  So will River of Light be opening soon to the public?

New Magicbands are here

Disney World has new Magicbands that look more like a watch in size and style.  The new Magicbands have an icon or puck in the center that can be removed with a small screwdriver.  The new design allows you to use the Magicband like a fitbit.  So you can use the icon FRID part in a key chain, a purse hanger, a clip, etc.  This opens the possibilities of the Magicbands to wear them many different ways.

Disney World adds cabanas to the Magic Kingdom

You can rent a cabana at Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom for the day.  The Magic Kingdom Cabanas are located in Tomorrow Land and have modern furnishings inside put the outsides are white temporary party tents that you might se at an outdoor wedding.  The Disney cabanas really do not fit into the Tomorrow Land theme and I hope are a test run.  Please listen to our Mouse Chat podcast for what's included in the Cabana rental and the cost.  You do get a bunch of nice extras when renting a cabana.

Our feelings are mixed on these cabanas.  I'm sure time will tell if these are going to stay or not.

Epcot will host a new festival in January 2017 - International Festival of the Arts.

The festival is Jan 13 - Feb. 20, 2017 on Friday - Mondays - six weekends only.  This festival celebrates the arts.  There will be concerts, plays, art and more.  The Festival of the Masters at Disney Springs is no longer happening so this appears to be a more in-dept replacement now at EPCOT.

Tiana's Riverboat Party starts at the Magic Kingdom.

This riverboat party / ice cream social is $49 for adults and $29 for kids.  You arrive at the riverboat in Liberty Square 45 minutes before the parade for an ice cream party.  You get to watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade from the riverboat. You also get to go to Tom Sawyers Island with Tiana.  This is brand new and we have not done this experience so please post your comments here and on our Mouse Chat facebook page.

Planning tips for your Disney Cruise.

We have been on many different cruise lines and it's hard to beat a Disney Cruise.  For today's Mouse Chat Disney podcast we have a Facebook page full of Disney Cruise Line questions from you, our listeners.

What's the most affordable way to take a Disney Cruise with a large family of 5 or more?

You can get two staterooms and get staterooms that connect.  We have booked two inside staterooms instead of a veranda that sleeps five and it's actually cheaper to book two inside staterooms.  Disney Cruise Line has double bathrooms which make it much easier to get ready and also lots of storage.  Book very early to get a connecting room, these book first so book this at least a year out.  Also booking a Disney cruise early gets you the best price.

What extras do you get on a Disney Cruise?

Not really an extra but there is really not much smoking that you will encounter on a Disney Cruise.  There is no casino that you have to walk through to get from place to place that is filled with smoke.  Also the night clubs are smoke free.

Disney Cruise Line has loads of extras.  Sodas are included and ice cream cones by the pool, great dining, amazing kids programs, fireworks at sea, and award winning entertainment.

How do I convince my husband to take a Disney Cruise?

I think first you really need to have a conversation about what you expect from your vacation.  Do you want to read a book poolside and relax?  Is your vacation style more active?  A Disney cruise can accommodate everyone.  If you want to spend your day relaxing at the coffee bar, get a massage, you can.  If you want constant activities, trivia, shows, dining, excursions, you can do that too.

Does Disney create themes to lower booked Disney Cruises?

We have been on the Disney Halloween cruise and also the Christmas cruises.  Disney Cruise Line has a Star Wars cruise also and there was a Frozen themed cruise also.  We love both the Halloween themed Disney Cruises and also the holidays on a Disney Cruise.  The Disney Cruise line ships are decorated for Christmas and even Castaway Cay is decorated for the Christmas Holidays.

Is there a bus to get to Walt Disney World from Disney Cruise Line?

Yes you can get from your Disney cruise port to Walt Disney World.  It's $75 per person and we actually recommend Happy Limo instead.  Contact your Pixie at Pixie Vacations and they can book this for you. One of the Mouse Chatters here on the podcast can book this for you.  FYI:  Port Canaveral to WDW is only about 45 minutes.  We have driven this many times in our own car and it's a very easy drive.

When should I book Palo or Remy on my Disney Cruise?

We booked the last night of our Disney Cruise at Palo and I would recommend against this.  You have already been eating for many days and your last night it's kind of difficult to have a big fancy meal.  Also you have to head back to your room and pack your luggage.  Also we would recommend not doing a specialty Disney restaurant on your first night.  Most of the time you are in a rush to get your luggage, unpack and get to dinner.  You should ask your travel agent to book Remy and Palo as soon as it is available in advance to get the best dates and times.  You can book on the ship itself as soon as you board, and we have done this also.  But booking on board you have a very limited selection of reservations.

Both Remy and Palo are excellent and worth the up charge.

Does Disney Offer and Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Package?

Yes, this is called a Disney land and sea package, but we recommend booking these separately because your Mouse Chatter can book a promotion much easier when they book WDW and DCL separately for you.  So if a Disney World discount comes out and you have Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World booked separately, you can then update your Disney World package to get the new vacation deal.  We have several tips around how to book both Disney World and Disney Cruise Line together, please contact us to get the best offer.

Disney Springs Disney Quest to remain open in 2017:

The NBA experience that is scheduled to replace Disney Quest still but we don't think this will has mass appeal.  As more NBA Experience and Disney Quest news comes out we will report it here.

Drones coming to Disney World and are at Disney Springs:

Star Bright Holidays at Disney Springs in a nightly holiday show using 300 drones at Disney Springs.

Jingle Cruise:

Jingle Cruise is back at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.  The Jungle Cruise turns into the Jingle Cruise for the holidays.  We give this mixed reviews and it really depends on your skipper for how this overlay on the attraction works for you.  If you go on the Jingle Cruise, please post your comments here and on our Mouse Chat Facebook page.

Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration:

The new stage show at the Magic Kingdom in front of the castle is very well done.  This show takes place several times a night during the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

New Universal Orlando Hotel:

Universal Orlando Resort announced it will be opening a new hotel.  The 16 story hotel is a contemporary upscale loft like resort.  The hotel will start taking reservations in early 2017 at Universal Family Vacations.  The concept art is very modern and has a mirrored effect.  The Universal's Aventura Hotel will open in summer of 2018.  This is Universals sixth hotel property.

Disney World for grown-ups

Sure Walt Disney World is great for a family vacation, but it's even better to go to Disney World on a grown-up trip.  Disney Marathons, Dapper Days, Epcot Food and Wine, Flower and Garden Festival are all great events happening at Walt Disney World that are perfect for a grown-up trip to Walt Disney World.

When you go to Walt Disney World for a grown up trip you can plan and experience different things than when you are going with your family.

Best Walt Disney World Resort for a group or grown-up trip

First, your Disney World accommodations could be Club Level at one of Disney World top deluxe resorts.  Disney Club Level would give you a nice place to relax and have some snacks and drinks.  Also doing Disney as an adult your location on Disney property is key.  I personally like to stay close to EPCOT if I go to Walt Disney World on a grown-up trip.  When you stay at Disney's Boardwalk Resort, Beach Club or Yacht Club, you can quickly get to Epcot to dine around World Showcase.  These Disney World Epcot resorts are literally a 10 minute walk to Epcot's back gate which gets you into the park next to the UK and Paris.  This is also perfect to go back to your resort room and park to the park later to watch Illuminations.

Another way to think about your Disney World resort accommodations for an adult only trip, is to stay at a Disney World Value resort.  If you are only going to be sleeping in your Disney resort and spending all your time out with friends in the parks, then you might not want to spend the money for a Disney Deluxe Resort.  The one disadvantage of the Disney World value resorts are that they are not close to the Disney World Parks.  Being away from the parks can cut into your grown-up trip time if you are waiting for buses.  I would recommend Uber or your own car, especially if you are meeting your friends at other Disney resorts for lunch or dinner.  Using Disney transportation to go resort to resort is time consuming.

Best Disney Park for grown ups

When I go to Walt Disney World with friends we like to hit several parks and Disney resorts.  So park hopping is key and planning everything in advance also is important.  We do spend a great deal of time in Epcot and at the Magic Kingdom when we are at Disney World from a grown-up trip.  We don't ride much, but we like to talk and stroll around the parks and resorts.

A trip with grown-ups is a more relaxed trip and a slower pace for most of us and it's an enjoyable way to see Walt Disney World.

Disney Springs with all the new entertainment, shops, and dining is also a great place to spend time at with adults. You can also see the Cirque Du Soleil show at Disney Springs.

Also it can be fun to go to the Disney Water parks, Jelli-rolls,  and even mini-golf at Walt Disney World with a group.

Best Dining at Walt Disney World for a group-up trip

If you are going to Disney World as a couple or as a group of grown-ups, we all love California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  California Grill also has some large tables that are perfect for groups of 10-20.

Lauren, Chris, and Lisa, went to Disney's Aulani resort in Hawaii and have a full Aulani review.

We spent a week in Hawaii and toured the full Aulani resort.  Our room was stunning and the resort is stunning also.  This resort is amazing and you feel like you have been taken away to tropical paradise, well you have.  There is a new infinity pool at Aulani and they also have the Volcano slide, lazy river, snorkeling lagoon (Rainbow Reef), and lots of pools.  The only thing is lounge chairs are hard to get if you are not in your chair by 9 AM.

The beach is beautiful and calm water.  The sand is clean and white and it is set in a cove.

The room sizes are the same type as what you would find at a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort property.  Everything is done very well, beautiful, classy, and a modern clean feel.  We book a regular room and also a 1 bedroom.  The 1 bedroom was massive and a very nice setup.  The views from Aulani are fabulous with the beach and sunsets.  Stunning setup photos can be taken every night.  If you pool a ground floor room you can actually have a walk out right to the grounds.We did eat at several of the Aulani restaurants and checked out the Aulani Spa, the kids club, etc.  So please listen to the full one hour Disney Aulani podcast for the full Aulani review.

If you have been on other cruise lines you are going to be blown away when you take a Disney Cruise.  We have been on all the Disney ships and many other cruise lines.  Our favorite cruise line is Disney and on this Mouse Chat show we cover questions from listeners about Disney Cruise Line.

1. What is the best Disney cruise for a first time cruiser? If this is your first cruise we would recommend a shorter cruise so you can get a feel for it.  You can do a three night Disney cruise but you are really just getting on the ship and then getting right back off.  A 4 night Disney cruise is what we would recommend if you just want to try cruising.  Also you get to go to Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, on the 4 night and not just the Bahamas.  Our favorite cruise is Eastern or Western Caribbean on Disney Cruise Line for 7 nights.  Seven nights is a nice length.Now you also can break up a Disney Cruise with a Walt Disney World vacation and do both.  :)
2. Disney for Alaska? We have not cruised Alaska but we have cruised Norway on Disney.  Princess Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line are both great options for an Alaska Cruise.
3. Which is the best Disney Cruise itinerary in the Caribbean? Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean are both nice.  If I had to pick I would pick Eastern Caribbean.  St Thomas and St. Martin are both very nice for an island tour, water sports, beaches, snorkeling, sailing, shopping and dining.  Mexico for the Western Caribbean is nice but if you go shopping be prepared to walk away from lots of high pressure sales in the shops.Disney Cruise Line TIP: Internet on Disney Cruise Line can be pricey.  Go to a cafe at one of the ports, buy a drink, and get the WIFI code to catch up on your emails.

Walt Disney World October and November 2016 News.

1. It looks like permanent metal detectors are coming to Walt Disney World.
2. 2018 Disney Cruise Line itineraries are out.  2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 night itineraries are available for 2018 cruises.  New Disney two and five night cruises from San Diego, CA. will be coming out in 2018 just for one month.
3. The Muppet fountain is going away while they work on Star Wars Land at Disney Hollywood Studios.
4. Disneyland resort is offering savings up to 25% at the Disneyland hotel and Disney's Grand Californian hotel on select dates.  You can book this Disneyland discount with a Mouse Chatter at Pixie Vacations.
5. Victoria & Albert's gets second place out of all the restaurants in the United States.  The rating comes from Trip Advisor.
6. Toy Story and The Incredibles movie release dates swap.  Could Toy Story 4 being moved back a year coincide with the new land opening at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Before the new Disney World Fastpass system you had to race walk to Toy Story Midway Mania or to Star Wars Jedi Training.  Now you can just book these online using the My Disney Experience App.

With Disney Fastpass+ you can book your Disney Hollywood Studios in advance.  The Fastpasses are in a tiered system.

Fastpass Tip for Disney Hollywood Studios:

If you are going on Disney Hollywood Studios the best all family attraction is Toy Story Midway Mania and this is a great fastpass selection. Also, Rockin Roller Coaster does have a single rider line which is a great way to avoid the long line at this attraction.

Fantasmic is a nice fastpasss option, but remeber that you can not sign up for any additional fastpasses until you use your 3rd booked fastpass.  So if you have booked Fantasmic as a fastpass you are not able to book more fastpasses until after Fantasmic ends, and then the park is closing.

The Main Street Electrical Parade has left Walt Disney World.  No new Magic Kingdom parade has not been announced yet.Next Fall a new wine bar will open in Disney Springs, Wine Bar George will seat over 250 people at this new mega wine bar. If you are planning a Disney World vacation, please make sure you listen to this Mouse Chat Disney Podcast.  We cover Disney's Port Orleans French Qtr (Disney Moderate Resort) and we also review Disney's Saratogo Springs Resort (Disney Deluxe Villa Resort).

French Quarter is one of our favorite Walt Disney World moderate resorts.  French Quarter is one of the smaller Walt Disney World resorts so it has just one bus stop.  This is nice for going to the Disney parks and coming back home late at night.  At other Disney moderate resorts you might find yourself going from bus stop to bus stop waiting to get to your stop.  The room are a nice size at Disney World moderate resorts and the New Orleans theme at this resort I love.  The walkways are covered with oak trees and fountains and gardens are just moments away as you walk to the main building lobby area.  The pool at Port Orleans French Quarter is beautiful with a dragon slide and a splash area also for the smaller kids.  There is a pool bar and hot tub too for adults.

French Quarter can be difficult to book, as the resort books up fast and can be hard to get a discount at.  If you are looking to book Disney's French Quarter resort please contact a Pixie at Pixie Vacations and remember you can request a Mouse Chatter from the show to help you plan your Disney World vacation.

Saratogo Springs is a Disney World Deluxe Villa resort located next to Disney Springs.  The resort is more of a condo layout with buildings spread out over a Disney golf course.  If you are look for rooms with a lot of space, this is a good choice for a on property Disney resort.  Also you can get anything from a studio to a grand villa or even a tree house villa at this resort.  The 1 bedrooms come with a full kitchen, washer and dryer and these are like a small residence.  Saratogo Springs has two large pools and other quiet pools on the spacious grounds.  The large pool has the longest water slide at Walt Disney World.  If you like to work out the gym at Saratogo Springs is almost the size of a commercial gym and there are plenty of places to run or walk outside.  This is also a DVC property but rooms can be booked here at Pixie Vacations with cash too.

Location is key at this resort and also we recommend having a car if you stay at this Disney World Resort.  Bus transportation can be hit or miss at this resort, meaning the buses can be crowded during popular seasons and depending on your bus stop you might be on the bus for awhile.

We give this resort mixed reviews.  Sharpie and Chris both give Saratoga Springs high praise while Lauren did not care for the resort.  So please listen to our Mouse Chat Podcast for each of our personal reviews and pros and cons.

Location: Magic Kingdom

The service at Liberty Tree Tavern was really good and the restaurant has a nice family feel.  Liberty Tree Tavern is family style so everything comes to the table to share. The food was average and similar to what you might get at Thanksgiving at home if your granda makes Thanksgiving out of a box from the freezer section.  Some items we enjoyed but many we did not, please listen to the Mouse Chat podcast for details.

Overall there are many better locations to spend a Disney Dining Table Service credit if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, or to spend cash at if you are paying out of pocket.  If you are paying out of pocket for dinner we would recommend The Plaza on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom.

Rating: 4 out of 10 - Chris 7 out of 10 for Lauren (she liked the Mac n Cheese)

Alternatives: We would recommend Be Our Guest at the Magic Kingdom instead of Liberty Tree Tavern.

Location: Disney Springs

If you are looking for fantastic southern food, Florida Cracker Style, you found it.  This is real Southern Cooking and it is really good.  We loved the atmosphere, it was bright and airy.  We went for dinner and the service was wonderful.  Disney Springs has so many dining options now and we loved Homecoming kitchen.  We ordered sandwiches and burgers ($15 - $18) which was very affordable.  They do have more expensive entrees that sounded great.  This is not a bad restaurant to pay cash for instead of using the Disney Dining Plan.  This is affordable dining at Disney Springs and a welcome addition.  There is even outdoor seating and it's very cute.  Please listen to our Mouse Chat episode for the full Chef Art Smith Homecoming Kitchen Review.

Location: Epcot - Italy pavilion

We have been past Tutto Italia many times on our way to to Via Nappoli and this time we booked dinner at Tutto Italia, TWICE.  We had dinner at Tutto Italia two dinner nights and both nights we had great service and wonderful meals.  I would say, don't order the steak.  This is an Italian restaurant and the Italian dishes and fish we all loved.  The steak was not great for the price point and three different people over the two different dinners tried the steak.  The steak was average.

Location: Disney's Animal Kingdom Kadani Village

Sanna is an Indian inspired restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Kadani Village Resort.  The resort is stunning and a great way to spend an evening.  Sanna is located on the ground level and has a nice view of the Savanna and you can also walk out to the Sanna viewing areas to cap off your evening.  Everyone in our party loved dining at Sanna and will be back.  For our full review of Sanna appetizers and meals, please listen to our Mouse Chat episode.
