Last week Cara and Jessica had the honor of moderating a panel for Women’s Day on Broadway a celebration of female identifying people, who are working in - or are fans of - the Broadway, Off-Broadway and professional theater industry. Each event Women of Broadway hosts is meant to offer an opportunity to share experiences, struggles, and victories with the goal of supporting each other to make our industry stronger. This year, for the first time, the plight of the working mother was brought to the forefront, highlighting how this pandemic has disproportionately affected those who are trying to manage not only a career and parenthood, but the social reckoning that our nation and industry is undergoing. Our conversation was one of truth, both in pain and hope. In case you missed the event, here is our panel with Laura Benanti, Tanya Birl, Julia Jordan, Vanessa Javier and Karen Olivo.
