Melissa and Naina talk to two fellow members of Dear Asian Youth : Roma Manaois and Maine Simbulan. They are both teenagers living in the Philippines, and together they compare social justice movements in the Philippines vs. the US, discuss how activism can be equated to terrorism, and talk about how bigotry and ignorance plays into performative advocacy on social media.

Alina and Genesis talk to Anu Thirunarayanan about how affirmative action started, the pros and cons of affirmative action, how it afffects the Asian community, and how it relates back to the Asian community’s internalized racism and anti-blackness

In today's episode, Alina interviews Beenish Mannan, aka Alina's mom! Beenish worked in Pocatello, Idaho City Council for 1-2 years. Alina and her mom tackle what it is like being an Asian (and Muslim) politician in a conservative town, her experience working on the city council, which was racially homogenous, as well as what it is like to face backlash as a WOC in politics, and also talk about how Asian women are told to not seek out careers, and rather care for their families, which is something councilwoman Mannan had experienced.

This episode, Naina and Melissa talk about beauty standards in Asia. Listen to them discuss the roots and origin of Asian perceptions of beauty, relive experiences and pressures they've felt from colorist standards, and relate it to the patriarchal roles of women.
