Long Arm Stapler
A podcast about zines.
Welcome back! Today I'm joined by Chicago-based artist Whitney Romberg. We spoke about her creative process, in-person zine fests and why we miss those experiences, and her podcast, Building Communi-Tea. We discuss the different zine scenes in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Hopefully once the world is back open, we'll be able to have in-person community events again!
Find more of Whitney's art on Instagram @whitneykittyart, and find Building Communi-Tea on Instagram @buildingcommunitea, and on Apple, Spotify, and Anchor.
Hi! This episode, I am joined by zine librarian extraordinaire Ziba Z, who is also a zine maker and zine fest organizer based in Southern California. We talk about international zines, Long Beach Zine Fest, and what we're looking forward to post-pandemic.

Welcome back! For this episode, I talked to Stephanie and Janene of Girls, on Film, which is a zine about 80s movies. We talk about the weather for a bit, then launch into talking about their history of zine making, making an online zine, their process, and more! We also discuss virtual zine fests and how they differ from in person (though we all miss in person fests the most, I think). They are virtually tabling at the upcoming Festival of the Photocopier (AUS) and the Glasgow Zine Fest (Scotland).
All of their zines are available as free PDFs on their website!

Welcome to Long Arm Stapler: A Podcast About Zines! This episode was recorded on December 2, 2017, one year after the Ghost Ship tragedy. I am joined by guest Sayuri Kimbell, an Oakland-based artist. With this episode, we wanted to honor our friend Ara Jo, who passed in the fire. We discuss accessibility of independent publishing, zine community and community healing, our memories of Ara and her legacy, and the upcoming East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest.
