On a more series note, the guys voiced their disgust with the upcoming Oprah Winfrey led documentary that's set to highlight the sexual misconduct claims of two of hip-hop icon Russell Simmons's accusers. Beto dropped out after failing to maintain or grow upon his initial buzz, Elizabeth Warren shared her detailed plan for health care for all and Donald Trump is still acting like an ass. 

The fellas also took time to exam the Rodney Reed situation in Texas. After maintaining his innocence for the last two decades plus, Mr. Reed is scheduled to be executed on November 20, 2019. An outcry from celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Questlove and others has brought attention Mr. Reed's situation to the masses in recent days and we all pray that he is granted clemency or a stay of execution. 

The latest in black film, music and television was also discussed as well as sports.  The NFL season is heating up, NCAA Basketball is back and the NBA season is proving to be as unpredictable as we could've imagined.

In a vast contrast between Rep. Cummings and Fmr. Pres. Jimmy Carter the guys took time to address the latest fuckery of Donald J. Trump. SMH.

The guys had a great time discussing "Raising Dion" since Alex finally finished watching the season on NetFlix. We all really enjoyed the show and suggest you check it out by yourself or with your children if you have the opportunity. The guys also talked about the 20th anniversary of the iconic Black romcom, "The Best Man."

In further black excellence news, the guys wanted to salute 50 cent for his many media projects in the works. They think we should all look forward to his hip-hop crime docuseries that will highlight some of the most compelling criminal cases involving key figures in the hip-hop community. 

In further media news, the guys think you should watch “Raising Dion” on Netflix. “Raising Dion” is a series adapted from a 2015 comic book of the same name. The story centers around a black single mother raising an exceptional little boy with super powers. 

To round it out, the guys talked about sports which let to the clashing of our resident NFL expert Alex and our resident NBA expert Brian. We had a lot of fun this episode and we hope you enjoy it.

Henson’s crusade for black mental health awareness, Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz getting shot and critically wounded in the Dominican Republic and NBA Superstar Kevin Durant falling to injury in his first game back in the Finals with the Golden State Warriors.

After discussing such heavy topics the guys speak on Black billionaire Robert Smith’s epic gesture of paying off the student loans of all of the Morehouse 2019 graduating class as well as NFL and NBA sports talk. The guys also cover Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib being attacked for her views on Israel, actress Felicity Huffman pleading guilty in her college scandal case and Alyssa Milano’s poorly conceived sex strike to protest recent anti abortion legislation. A few other topics are tackled and even in the middle of their NBA talk, the breaking news of the Alabama abortion legislation being signed into law was addressed. During the podcast, Alex introduced the recent conviction of Chanel Lewis, a man found guilty of raping and strangling a young female jogger to death, who worked with autistic children. Alex and Brian took issue with the police tactics used in bringing this rapist/killer to justice. Although no one was falsely accused or detained, many African Americans males were forced to give DNA samples; which might’ve been a violation of their civil rights. All of this led to a heated debate over whether the ends justify the means when seeking justice. After the heated debate, the guys went through the rest of their topics spanning from Beyoncé’s Homecoming documentary to Kim Kardashian’s quest to become a lawyer. They also covered a few sports topics and salute OutKast and Nas on their classic debut albums “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik” and “Illmatic” turning 25 years old.

Alex, Brian, Joe and Ant sit down to discuss the untimely passing of one of our favorite figures in hip-hop today, Nipsey Hussle. Nipsey was gunned down on March 31, 2019 outside of a clothing store he owned in the neighborhood he grew up in. In fact, Nipsey owned numerous properties in his neighborhood, which he used to provide jobs and services for the people in his community. In addition to commercial properties, Nipsey had science and technology initiatives in place that were already bearing fruit. Nipsey was empowering his people in numerous ways As far as music goes, Nipsey was coming off of the biggest year of his rap career with his debut studio album being nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys. The whole industry, as well as millions of fans and admirers are mourning his passing. We’ll all miss the catchy and thoughtful hip hop music he was making, but even more so the keen business acumen, elder-level wisdom and commitment to his community that the 33 year old Nipsey Hussle had. Rest easy, King! You are gone, but will never be forgotten. You inspired so many. Although we had heavy hearts entering this episode, Brian’s invited guest, Marcia brightened the podcast with her presence. Please excuse some technical difficulties we had recording this episode.
