Todays summer compilation is our 3rd. The first 'Last Summer' was out in August 2018. We've come a long way since then. 3 years, plenty of creative individuals and a ton of music. Damn time flies.

Even so, there were times I saw freshness and beauty. I could smell the air, and I really loved rock 'n' roll. Tears were warm, and girls were beautiful, like dreams. I liked movie theaters, the darkness and intimacy, and I liked the deep, sad summer nights.

Delayed by almost a month due to unforseen events and circumstances, the seasonal (summer) beat tape of Pueblo Vista is here! We're half-way through summer (in the north hemisphere) but it's always summer in our hearts and minds. Aaah, summer - that long anticipated stretch of lazy, lingering days, free of responsibility and rife with possibility. It's a time to hunt for insects, master handstands, practice swimming strokes, conquer trees, explore nooks and crannies, and make new friends.

We all need the sun, so here is a short story about the summer. How wonderful life can be. To wake in the morning, the fragrance of freshly grounded coffee coming from the kitchen downstairs. The narrow winding stairs. The kitchen is just to the right of the staircase past the old bookshelf.

I don't sleep so much because it's the coolest thing to being awake.

People think being alone makes you lonely, but I don't think that's true. Being surrounded by the wrong people is the loneliest thing in the world.

Not sure what you are doing right now but I am losing my freaking mind over you.

I like trains. I like their rhythm and I like the freedom of being suspended between two places, all anxieties of purpose taken care of. For this moment I know where I am going.

Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows. Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could. The heart was made to be broken.
