Robert Baron was last seen alive on the night of January 25, 2017, after he dropped off his son off at home after leaving his restaurant. Investigators found blood and a tooth in the restaurant. His car was found a short time later, less than a mile away. Detectives say blood was also found inside the car and there was mud on the tires. 44-year-old Jerold Haas' skeletal remains were found in the woods of Ohio in 2018, seven weeks after he was reported missing. His thigh bone was broken, but the cause of death is not known. Dave Bocks, a 39 year old pipefitter, disappeared during the facility’s graveyard shift and was later reported missing. Eventually, his remains were discovered inside a uranium processing furnace. Barbara Miller was reported missing by her estranged ex-boyfriend on July 5, 1989, after attending the wedding of her best friend, Lori Wands, in Mifflinburg on June 30. In 1990, Sunbury police first reported they believed Barbara Miller may have been murdered. On October 8, 2009, William Hurley disappeared from Boston, Massachusetts. He had been attending a Boston Bruins game at TD Garden and had called his fiancée to pick him up halfway through the match. She drove to the stadium, but when she arrived, Hurley was nowhere in sight. She called him to find out where he was waiting, and she heard him ask someone where he was. A man said "99 Nashua Street,” and Hurley told her his cell phone was going dead. She drove to the address, but Hurley was not there. On April 14th, 2004 - Roger Lindberg and his brother Sune were attacked in their home in Kalamark, Sweden. Sune survived while Roger did not. Within days the local police zeroed in on their suspect who was identified as Kaj Linna. He was charged and found guilty of the crime. Then, out of nowhere a Swedish podcast picked up the case and found that Kaj might have been wrongfully convicted and it turns out that he was. Kaj was released from prison after serving 13 years. On November 17, 1989 the body of an infant girl was found in Rupert, Idaho. This was not just any unsolved case though. She had been dead for no more than five days and was dismembered, disemboweled, possibly skinned, and burned. Both hands were missing. So was the right arm, at the shoulder. The abdominal organs had been cut out, leaving only the lungs and a portion of the upper heart chamber. I'm not really into conspiracy theories, but this case, is beyond weird!!! On October 18, 2015, former BBC journalist, Jacky Sutton was found hanged in a bathroom stall in Ataturk airport located in Istanbul. Her untimely death was ruled as an apparent suicide. Despite the conclusion of her death, it's the circumstances leading to this event that have people scratching their heads. Her supposed suicide went against not only her character, but her current occupation at the time. Furthermore, the reasoning for her suicide according to airport officials and the police, didn't make sense. The answer given was due to the lack of funds for her flight. For three decades, the abduction, rape and murder of 8-year-old April Tinsley in April 1988 had frustrated Indiana investigators. The mysterious killer's taunting messages admitting to the crime, scrawled on a barn door and on paper notes threatening to kill again, only added to the desire to solve the cold case. Still, no suspect could be found. But thanks to advances in genealogy and DNA technology, the suspected killer was arrested and then confessed to the crime, more than 30 years after April's death. John D. Miller, 59, was preliminarily charged with murder, child molesting and criminal confinement of a victim under 14. Police connected him to the homicide by using DNA from the scene of the murder and from the taunting messages, and inputting them into a genealogical database. DNA from Miller's garbage matched DNA from the crime scene and from the taunts, and when police brought him in for questioning, he confessed to the disturbing killing. On January 11, 2013, Kendrick Johnson's body was discovered inside a rolled up wrestling mat in the gymnasium of his high school. A preliminary investigation and autopsy concluded that the death was accidental. The story of Billy the Kid’s short and violent life isn’t just incredible, it is indeterminate, with many parts still shrouded in mystery. For decades, the primary text on Billy the Kid’s killing was written by none other than Pat Garrett, the sheriff who said he shot the cattle rustler turned killer. It happened in November 1978 at the Speedway Burger Chef. A Friday night. Four employees on duty disappear; 16-year-old Daniel Davis, 16-year-old Mark Flemmonds, 20-year-old Jayne Friedt and 17-year-old Ruth Shelton. Initially, police in Speedway didn’t have much to go on. Since there was $500 taken from the cash register some investigators thought the employees may have taken the money and went out for the night. The four employees couldn’t be found. Early in the investigation, York says a mistake was made. The Burger Chef restaurant was cleaned up. Two days after the employees disappeared the worst case scenario appeared. Twenty miles south of Burger Chef a grisly discovery was made in a Johnson County field. Two bodies found. Daniel Davis and Ruth Shelton had been shot execution-style. On August 30, 2013, 19-year-old Bryce David Laspisa from Castiac California, went missing near Castiac Lake. After Bryce spent the summer with his parents, he appeared to be eager to start his sophmore year at Sierra College. Bryce’s friends however reported that he was drinking heavily and using prescription drugs during his first two weeks back on campus. He had also abruptly ended the relationship with his girlfriend and was under the influence the night he left campus. Also troubling was that Bryce had reportedly gaven away some of his possessions, including diamond earrings from his mother, before going on the road. The drive to his parent’s house should have only taken Bryce a few hours, however he was on the road for over 20 hours. During this timeframe, Bryce had his car serviced, he talked to his parents on several occasions and was even questioned by police. Everyone that spoke with Bryce, in-person and on the phone, insists that he was lucid during this strange timeframe. Police found it strange that Bryce was reluctant to call his parents on the phone and Bryce even told his mother not to come pick him up. Bryce mentioned to his parents he had something important that he wanted to discuss with them, however refused to give more information. What is it that Bryce wanted to talk his parents about and why was he reluctant to get home? These questions are central to the investigation for the police and also for the private investigator who have been working with Bryce’s parents. Bryce’s 2003 beige Toyota Highlander was found overturned. His laptop and wallet were still inside the vehicle. Buford Pusser was the “Walking Tall” sheriff, famous for his frequent violent run-ins with local lowlifes and gangsters. But by August 21, 1974, he was retired and a Hollywood celebrity, driving away from his hometown county fair in a new Corvette he’d bought with money from his first Walking Tall movie. His daughter, who followed a few minutes behind, did indeed come upon the burning wreck of his car, with Buford dead beside it from a broken neck. Authorities claimed that Buford died because he was driving too fast, had too much to drink, and wasn’t wearing his seat belt. Buford Pusser was elected sheriff of McNairy County, Tennessee, on a platform of cleaning up the county, which was regarded as the most corrupt, crime-ridden county in the state, if not the U.S. by some local citizens. According to locals, several organized-crime rings, based mainly in Nashville, ran the criminal enterprises in McNairy County, including gambling, prostitution, bootlegging, narcotics, auto theft, etc. Pusser was a former amateur wrestler while living in Chicago, who locals perceived as tough as nails and incorruptible, which was a major departure from the image some prior local officials had. Although there were never any witnesses, Pusser claimed there were several attempts to carry out a contract on his life. The most serious incident occurred when the car he and his wife was riding in was ambushed; his wife was killed and he was shot in the chin requiring substantial surgery and a major facial reconstruction to repair his chin as well as damage caused in several high speed accidents. Pusser died in 1974 when the Corvette he was driving veered off the road at over 100 mph and crashed. Though It was officially ruled an accident, some locals believed he had been deliberately run off the road in a successful assassination attempt. On April 8, 1994, Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the grunge band Nirvana, was found dead at his home in Seattle, Washington. Forensic analysis at the time determined he had killed himself on April 5. The Seattle Police Department incident report states: "Kurt Cobain was found with a shotgun across his body, had a visible head wound and there was a suicide note discovered nearby." The King County Medical Examiner noted puncture wounds on the inside of both the right and left elbow. Despite the official ruling of suicide, it has been suggested that Cobain did not actually kill himself. Tom Grant, a private investigator hired by Love to find Cobain after his departure from drug rehabilitation, believes that Cobain was murdered as the result of a conspiracy. Grant's theory has been analyzed and questioned by several books, television shows, and films. Ridgway’s slayings began in 1982, when young runaways and prostitutes began disappearing from state Route 99 in south King County, Washington. He brought many of them to his home and strangled them, then left them in woodsy, remote sites. The first few bodies turned up along the now-notorious Green River. Dubbed the Green River Killer, Ridgway eluded the law until 2001, when King County sheriff Dave Reichert, the first officer assigned to the case in 1982, called a meeting to re-examine evidence using newly developed DNA-testing technology. The analysis produced a match between evidence from the victims and Ridgway, and he was charged with four counts of aggravated murder in December 2001. Neiko Lisi was last seen in Addison, New York on September 30, 2011. He and a 20-year-old friend, Robert Knight, stopped at Lisi's uncle's home at 2:00 p.m. and said they were going to Buffalo, New York to possibly go camping. Lisi had phone contact with his family the next day. He has never been seen or heard from again. On the morning of October 1, Knight arrived at his parents' home in Romulus, Michigan. He said Lisi had dropped him off there, but no one actually saw Lisi. On October 3, Lisi's mother got his driver's license in the mail. Someone had found it on a street in Hornell, New York, about fifteen minutes from Lisi's home, and mailed it back. His Facebook page had been shut down without warning around that same time. Lisi's family reported him missing on October 5, and the Michigan police questioned Knight on October 8. While he was being interviewed, the police decided to take him to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Knight was released from the hospital the next day. At 8:00 p.m. on October 10, he was found dead of a drug overdose at his parents' home. Authorities haven't said whether they think Knight's death is related to Lisi's disappearance. The pickup truck Lisi had been driving in when he vanished could not be found after his disappearance. In July 2016, four and a half years after Lisi's disappearance, authorities finally located it, completely stripped down and locked inside a garage in a private home in Franklin, Tennessee. Dorothy Jane Scott was a single mother in 1980 who kept receiving mysterious phone calls at her job in Anaheim, California. Dorothy thought the voice sounded familiar, but she could never place it. The caller threatened to cut her into pieces and let her know he knew exactly where she was every minute of the day. Alarmed, Dorothy took up karate. It didn't help her. According to legend, as a young man living on a plantation in rural Mississippi, Robert Johnson had a tremendous desire to become a great blues musician. He was instructed to take his guitar to a crossroad near Dockery Plantation at midnight. There he was met by a large black man (the devil) who took the guitar and tuned it. The devil played a few songs and then returned the guitar to Johnson, giving him mastery of the instrument. This was a deal with the devil mirroring the legend of Faust. In exchange for his soul, Johnson was able to create the blues for which he became famous. Johnson died on August 16, 1938, at the age of 27, near Greenwood, Mississippi, of unknown causes. Several differing accounts have described the events preceding his death. According to one theory, Johnson was poisoned by the jealous husband of a woman with whom he had flirted. Johnson had been flirting with a married woman at a dance, who gave him a bottle of whiskey poisoned by her husband. But....when you start looking into this case, it doesn't add up. The Bennett family murders is a case that goes back more than three decades. It begins with a woman killed with a hammer in Lakewood and, a week later, a family killed the same way in Aurora. On January 13, 1996, nine-year-old Amber Rene Hagerman (November 25, 1986 – January 17, 1996) was abducted while riding her bike in Arlington, Texas. A neighbor who witnessed the abduction called the police, and Amber’s brother Ricky went home to tell his mother and grandparents what happened. It’s often believed that Hagerman’s murderer kept her alive for at least two days. Richard Hagerman and Amber’s mother, Donna Whitson (now Donna Norris), called the news media and the FBI. The Whitsons and their neighbors began searching for Amber. Four days after the abduction, near midnight, her body was found in a creek behind an apartment complex – with cut wounds to her neck.
