The SAR Take
The SAR Take is a Canadian Pararescue show where we highlight elite operators who work in austere environments to provide medical aid to Canadians. Our goal is to share stories and highlight people who have done some incredible acts of selflessness so that others may live. RESCUE

We talk about key components of joining the military, and how to best set yourself up for changing trades. SAR will be accepting candidates next year and now is the time to ensure you have everything ready for a solid application. Maybe you are not interested in SAR, this information applies to any trade. He is an incredible human being with a lot of experience and good things to say. It so happens he is a selection officer in the military and along the way, he will be able to help us navigate the military system for people who want to advance or change careers. Joined the CAF in 97 as a supply tech, became a para rigger in 2002. OD is from course 41 and has worked at 424, 103, 413 and JRCC. We interviewed a pilot a while back but this amazing story may have been lost in the middle of a long interview. Here is just the Mission story. While rescuing a guy with a broken femur the crew find themselves in bad weather and have a close call. It is incredible to hear it firsthand. Enjoy! RESCUE!!!!!

Alfred Barr Course 49 died on March 8th, 2017 during a training event in Saskatchewan. It is important to remember our fallen for who they are as a person. During this episode, we share some stories of AL and cite a favourite poem of his. If it sounds light and fun it's because it's how AL would want us to talk about him. We miss you every day, RIP Rescue Brother.
Born in Vic, BC joined the military in 2010 as a medic. 4 years in Edmonton before course 49! Started at 103 sqd Gander, and now working at 442 in Comox. Nigel is a bike enthusiast, a moderately good climber and this year's SAR Tech of the year!
