#47 - From a 9-5 Job to a Full-Time Entrepreneur
23 perc 47. rész Steven de Cuba

Most struggling entrepreneurs don’t take action in their business because they say that “it’s not perfect yet”.

They spend 3 to 6 months in their business trying to have that perfect website, with the perfect logo and the perfect branding colors, only to realize that those are not the primary factor that is going to determine whether someone would invest in your business or not.

Not only is this one of the biggest mistakes that you can make when first starting out, but one of the common mistakes that most entrepreneurs make which creates the feeling of overwhelm.

Because there’s so much to do and no money coming in.

OF COURSE, you’re going to feel overwhelmed.

#45 - How to pivot in your business
32 perc 45. rész Steven de Cuba

When I first started my business in Aruba as a photographer, I felt alone. I didn't feel a sense of community in the photography industry, it was more like a competition.

I wanted to be part of a group of people that see others across the room as a community rather than competition.

But I never felt like I had something interesting to say or an interesting topic to create a program about. I had the fear of what if I made a mistake and people would laugh/judge me.

I had the fear that perhaps I won't be good enough so I never really acted on my dream. I always used different excuses, "I'm not ready yet. Right now is not the right timing".

Sometimes we use these excuses of "not being ready" or "I'm not good enough", but in fact, we are afraid of what other people might think or what's going to happen if we fail.

#44- Avoid This Mistake When First Starting Your Business
17 perc 44. rész Steven de Cuba

One of the common mistakes that a lot of entrepreneurs make when first starting out is that they think they should have a logo, a website, or their branding colors ready, before starting to market their services online.

This is one of the biggest mistakes that you can do and I believe one of the big excuses that many struggling entrepreneurs use to stay in their comfort zone.

Many people like to use the excuse of "not having it all figured out" or "it's not perfect yet" so they don't take action at all in their business.

But if you'd like to build a profitable business online, how do you expect people to invest in your business while you're not taking any action at all to put yourself out there?

#43 - How to price yourself as a personal brand?
38 perc 43. rész Steven de Cuba

Most starting entrepreneurs base their own prices depending on how much their competitors are charging.

They look at what other people are doing and they try to do more or less the same thing... without even realizing that this is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when pricing your services.

Think about it...

Do you think that every successful entrepreneur out there decided their rates by looking at what other people are doing?

No way.

Every successful entrepreneur knows that it's not about what other people are doing, it's about what you can bring to the table. (That's why the entrepreneurs are successful, to begin with!)

Successful entrepreneurs are not like most people, they're different, they act differently, they think differently, and they focus on the right things in their business rather than looking at what other people are doing.

#42 - 3 Ways to Repurpose Your Blog Post
28 perc 42. rész Steven de Cuba

One of the common mistakes that I see a lot of struggling entrepreneurs do is that they spend most of their time creating new content rather than promoting their content.

Not only is this one of the most common mistakes, but also one of the easiest ways to get overwhelmed in your business... and sadly, a lot of people get there.

'Creative funk...' ever heard of it?

A creative funk is when it feels 'yucky' to create content.

You have no creativity, you don't know what to talk about or you're not sure what to post next, so you end up not posting at all.

Most people think that they should spend most of their time creating new content to attract more eyeballs to their business and this will help them grow a successful business online.

That's far from the truth.

Today, I'm going to share with you how you can work smarter and not harder. I'm going to show you how you can leverage all of your pieces of content so you can reach more people, have a bigger impact, and spend less time trying to figure out what to post next.

Just like my business mentor,  James Wedmore, says: “Business happens in phases. And every phase of your business requires different actions, mistakes, lessons learned, etc.”

Just like playing a video game. You start at level one and as you go to level two, you are presented with new challenges.

Meaning, what you did in the past, got you where you’re at right now. And in order to take your business to the next level, there are new required actions that you need to take.

#30 - Perfectionism: your biggest enemy
36 perc 30. rész Steven de Cuba

Spending 3 months working on your website, choosing your branding color, or designing that perfect logo are the most common and most costly mistakes that you can make in your business when starting out.

Not only are they the most common mistakes, but also the biggest factors that are preventing you from actually growing your brand.

Let me explain…

Most people give themselves the excuse of not being ready, therefore they won’t show up at all for their business.

They give external factors more power than their ability to commit to their business.

I’ve seen so many people not doing the things that they know they should be doing, not because they’re not qualified to do it, but because they don’t believe they have what it takes to make it happen. They have limiting beliefs that prevent them from actually taking action.

#29 - How to hack the Instagram algorithm
32 perc 29. rész Steven de Cuba

Over the years, I’ve heard a lot of people blame the algorithm for their lack of engagement on Instagram.

They say things like:

“The algorithm makes it difficult for me to grow my brand online”

“I’ve already tried different things on social media, but every time there’s an update I lose engagement”.

“The algorithm sucks! Only people with a huge following can actually get engagement”

They blame everything on the platform and the algorithm without even having the audacity to look at themselves.

What I believe in:

Your reality is a reflection of your inner wisdom.

Your mind is the master power that creates your reality. And your brain is the one that tries to keep you safe from danger, from doing the uncomfortable, from actually taking the leap and make a change in your life…

Basically, it’s a constant battle between your brain and your mind.

However, once you understand how the algorithm behaves and the factors that influence the algorithm, then you can start showing up on social media more strategically. It’s way easier for you to show up every single day and know exactly what to do that delivers real and tangible results.

I know how busy you are and I don’t want social media to feel like yet another thing to do on your long list of to-dos. If you only have 1 hour a day to show up for your business on social media, I want you to understand the most important things about the algorithm so that you can show up more effectively and use your time wisely.

#28 - How to be comfortable in front the camera during a personal branding photoshoot
21 perc 27. rész Steven de Cuba

What I’ve learned as I built my presence online, is that people like to see the real you.

If you’re a life coach, yoga instructor, wedding planner, or simply you have an online presence, you need to regularly take professional photos of yourself.

Having professional branded lifestyle photos can massively uplevel your business. Especially, when you know when and where to use them. How you show up online is going to directly affect your bottom line.

With really good lifestyle photography, the image tells a story and your ideal audience is going to be drawn to you in a way that you just can’t accomplish with generic stock images, these are so impersonal. You know how important first impressions are.

You got to show your face in these images. People need to see your face.

Aiden is a 12-year-old entrepreneur that started this journey when he was 8.  Now, I remember when I was 8 years old, I was outside playing with mud and playing hide and seek with my neighbors.

Entrepreneurship? How the heck do you eat that?!

I grew up in a small town in Aruba where entrepreneurship wasn’t a thing. In fact, I grew up in a family that was only taught that a 9-5 job is the way of life.

But thanks to the internet, I’ve discovered that there’s so much more than having a 9-5 job and building the corporate ladder.

Basically, I had to figure out all by myself. (thanks to all those all-nighters and YouTube videos that taught me all that I know)

It’s so amazing to see how some entrepreneurs start a really young age and use social media platforms to share their message. When I met Aiden, I knew I wanted him to be on the Podcast.

There’s something about his energy that I believe will inspire a lot of people and I hope you’re one of them.

#12 - Why you don't need a lot of followers to grow a personal brand online

If I had a euro for every time someone told me:

“I need a lot of followers to start a personal brand on social media”

See, a lot of struggling entrepreneurs think that having a lot of followers means making more sales.

But, how many times have you seen people with more than 10K followers but are NOT getting any engagement, let alone making any sales?

How many times have you seen people BUYING followers because they think that having more followers means making more sales?

Let me ask you something: Do you buy from someone that has a lot of followers? Or, let me rephrase that: Do you buy from someone BECAUSE they have a lot of followers?

Probably not, right?

So, if we know that followers are NOT the main reason people are buying. Then the proof is there. You don’t need a lot of followers to grow a successful business online.

“Okay, Steven, so what do we need?”  (

21 perc 10. rész Steven de Cuba

If you’re looking for a way to repurpose your content to save time, stress and energy – well, friend, you’ve come to the right place!

Repurposing your content can be an amazing way to show up consistently online, connect with your audience and attract more eyeballs to your business. On top of that, you will show up every day online knowing exactly what to post, what to say and how to engage your audience.

You go from not knowing what to post to be a professional online marketeer.

I know it sounds crazy: because how many times have you experienced when you’re planning a post for Instagram, for example, you spend hours trying to choose the best image (so that you’re feed is curated), but also the right photo to match with your caption.

While showing up is important, not communicating your message effectively and engaging with your audience, is not going to convert them into paying customers.  I’m going to share with you my exact framework of how I repurpose my content to make sure I’m connecting with my audience in different ways.

I’m just a passionate entrepreneur who is trying his best and by sharing my story I’d like to let you know that you’re not alone.

Honestly, I waited so long to record this episode. Because I didn’t know what I wanted to share, to begin with. This episode is about my story. My journey. What I’ve been through. This is not an inspirational episode nor a sobbing story. This is me just being open with you.
