Dave Turncrantz is an incredibly talented and tasteful drummer that has arguably found himself in one of the most difficult positions in one of the best bands out there. In Russian Circles he operates free of a click, but at the mercy of the layers and loops bing built around him. How he pulls this off is something that has always bewildered me... Fortunately I was able to discuss in detail over many many laughs.

Phil Towle is probably best known for his work that was documented in the Metallica documentary, "Some Kind of Monster"; but honestly, he should be known as the shining light we all look for on the darkest of days. A truly disarming, personable, and insightful guy with tons of great advice for bands at all levels.
Kirk Hammet of Metallica said "If Lennon and McCartney had Phil, the Beatles would never have broken up." I think any band could be inserted in that sentence... We talk a great deal about "Some Kind of Monster", the reception of St. Anger, addiction, hardship that often runs with art, the price of fame, and more.
