Cyber Safety While You Work From Home with Dr. Eric Cole
34 perc 56. rész

In these crazy times, everything has changed. Of course, we’re in the midst of a global pandemic, and health care workers, first responders, and essential service employees are putting themselves at risk to keep us safe and healthy. The rest of us? Spending a lot of time stuck at home, and many of us are working remotely. It’s quite an adjustment to go from taking care of business at the office every day to getting it done at home, and there are many obstacles and risks involved. Cyber threats have skyrocketed as hackers are attempting to play on your fear and uncertainty with fraudulent emails and links. My guest today is a cybersecurity expert, and I thought it was the perfect moment to get the ins and outs of work-from-home cybersecurity for you and your business.

Today’s guest is Dr. Eric Cole, a computer and cybersecurity expert with over 30 years of security experience. Dr. Cole has worked with Fortune 500 companies, top international banks, and the CIA. He has been featured on CNN, CBS News, FOX News, and 60 Minutes. He was CTO and SVP of Mcaffe and a Chief Scientist at Lockheed Martin. The Power of Intimate Relationships

It’s no secret that there is much power and value in the intimate relationships of our lives -- spouses, children, parents, siblings, best friends, whatever category those intimate relationships fall into. And yet, too few people work hard to prioritize those relationships. But the truth is, the work you put into those relationships serves as the training ground for growth in every other aspect of your life. Those intimate relationships are a gift that we receive, not a garment to wear and cast off. It is only when you are able to embrace that fact into your life, and begin showing up fully for those relationships that you may finally begin to taste the richness of life.

Today’s Guest

These brilliant bits of personal wisdom come from today’s guest, my friend and unstoppable world changer, Bryan Miller. He is a writer, coach, and philanthropist. Within the family enterprise, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, Bryan serves on the board of directors and as Executive Director of Culture. Lean into the hard times

The most successful people are solutions people. They don’t dwell in their struggles - they immediately look for and find solutions to get out of it. Some of the most incredible successes can emerge from struggle. So, when you find yourself in that rut, in a difficult time, at home or at work, lean into it. It’s hard to do, but if you can take stock of the difficult moment and lean into the struggle, you’ll come out on the other side even stronger. Remember, if everything happens for a reason, the hard times become stepping stones, giving you the space and time you might need before catapulting to success.

Today’s guest

I couldn’t be more excited to share today’s on-fire guest with my followers. It’s my friend and unstoppable entrepreneur Aaron Wagner. Aaron shares crazy stories about his ups and downs as an athlete and entrepreneur, and leaves us with a treasure chest of life and business hacks that we can’t wait to put to work. Build Your Competitive Intelligence with Coach Michael Burt
21 perc 52. rész

It’s no secret that success in the world of sports can directly relate to success in the world of business. There are so many ways that you can, and should, apply the mentality and ethic of an athlete to your work every day. But you may not realize one very important missing link: everybody, whether you’re an athlete or an entrepreneur, needs a coach. To push them further than they thought they wanted to go. To have the hard conversations. Successful people have that one (or more!) coach, or mentor, that gives them that edge.

Thinking too small

You might be dreaming of success. But you might be dreaming of success where you are, locally. Just in your neighborhood, or your state, or region. Most people think locally. If you are, you’re thinking too small. You need to be thinking bigger. Think globally. Your market is Planet Earth. There’s no reason to limit yourself to a smaller, local market when the world is wide open. You can’t get comfortable where you are - it’s one of the biggest mistakes you can make as an entrepreneur. Getting comfortable and thinking small can be a dangerous detriment.

Activate your prey drive

One huge way you can de-active comfort is by activating your “Prey Drive.” This is something found in dogs and other predator animals. It’s a simple concept: see, catch, kill. Humans have this, too. It’s an instinctive ability to see something, either with your eyes or with your mind, and go get it. But when we get comfortable, it is more difficult to access. The prey drive is deactivated when our needs are satisfied. So, how do you keep it active? Don’t let yourself be satisfied. Be inspired and driven by the pursuit, and not by the catch. Everybody has prey drive, but you have to find your own way of activating it’s full capacity.

Today’s guest

These words of immense wisdom come directly from today’s guest: my unstoppable friend Coach Michael Burt. He is considered “America’s Coach,” a unique blend of a former championship basketball coach combined with a deep methodology of inner-engineering people to produce at a higher level in the business world. He speaks around the world on his books and growth methodologies and is the personal coach to some of the top-performing companies in the world.

This episode is a goldmine of inspiring wisdom from Coach Burt that’ll drive you toward success. I’m such a fan of Coach Burt, and he’s a prime example of why all successful people need a coach or mentor like him in their lives. Listen to this podcast and take lots of notes - the words of wisdom don’t stop coming. Execute his mentality and there’s no doubt you’ll be leagues ahead of the competition, and on your way to millions.

Lance is one of the most amazing humans I know, and listen close because he has some amazing things to teach you on this episode of the podcast.

We are talking about real estate, but all of these concepts (and all the rest of the wisdom Lance shares with us) are applicable to every other area of your life. Seize Your Opportunities with Tim Storey
33 perc 45. rész

Life is a series of breaks

A lot of people expect good things in life to come to them in a neat, pretty little package with a bow on top. And while they’re sitting around waiting for those packages to be pointed out to them in big flashing lights, they miss all of the incredible opportunities that come their way. Yes, things can work out perfectly sometimes, but the reality is that life isn’t clean cut. It’s a bit messier, a bit uglier, and less clear. The breaks in life, those times when you have breakthroughs, come when you least expect or feel worthy of them. But the best opportunity is usually found in those moments, and it’s up to you to recognize and capitalize on them.

Today’s guest

That massive piece of wisdom comes from today’s guest, the amazing Tim Storey. Tim has inspired and coached people from all walks of life, from entertainment legends to professional athletes and CEOs to help them create the future they desire. He’s been a featured guest on Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday, Steve Harvey TV, Grant Cardone’s 10X Growth Con, and much more. Tim has also authored multiple books, the most recent of which, Comeback & Beyond, is a top seller on Amazon. Tim told me that he owes all of his past and current success to those little breaks. He sees through the drama and difficulties in life and strings them together until they create an opportunity.

That calm, confident, and composed nature is palpable, even via a video chat. I have to say, I was fanboying a little bit in today’s episode. I’ve followed Tim’s career and listened to his talks for a while. He’s an inspiration to both myself and countless people around the world. So listen to today’s podcast. Execute the wisdom Tim shares with us, and you will find yourself stepping firmly into the future you deserve.

Jason and I have known each other for a long time, and we share similar histories. His mission, direction, focus, and positivity are what make me so proud and grateful to call him my friend. He is exactly the kind of person you want to surround yourself with: someone who focuses on the positive, celebrates your success, wishes for you to improve yourself, and will do whatever they can to help you achieve your goals. Cutting out the negative people - the ones who accept the lowest level of themselves and try to keep us down - is crucial to your growth and success. They try to keep you down as you try to lift yourself up. As difficult as it is, you have to distance yourself from those people. The negativity they breed rubs off on you just as the positivity and success of people like Jason do.

Today’s Guest

Jason spends 80% of his time giving back through charitable causes. To reach the lives of the underserved, he launched The Bald Avenger, his performing silverback gorilla alter ego that brings forth his protectionist leadership to be a shield for the vulnerable. Through the Bald Avenger, Jason performs comedy on stages and interviews life-changing people on The Bald Avenger podcast. He currently serves as CEO of Feed-a-Billion, a non-profit organization funding one billion nutritious meals to the underserved around the world. He is on the board of A New Dawn, a charity supporting abused women and children, and serves in Operation Underground Railroad and many other trafficking foundations, where he participates in highly sensitive covert missions to deliver trafficked children back to safety.

Don't Take Your Customers For Granted with Sandi Hendry
37 perc 39. rész

The experience you create for your customers and employees is an essential part of the success equation and a big part of my discussion with today’s guest, Sandi Hendry. A friend and unstoppable entrepreneur, Sandi is the CEO and founder of Minky Couture, which makes amazing hand-sewn, luxurious designer blankets. The first Minky Couture blanket was made during a painful and scary period of Sandi’s life. Her daughter was hospital ridden for many months and asked for a comfortable, cute blanket. Unable to find anything cute or cozy enough, Sandi had one made. She made more and gave them to patients, doctors, and nurses when she saw how much everyone loved her daughter's blanket. The idea of Minky Couture blossomed from there.

Sandi knew a few things right off the bat: she wanted it to be local, unique, and personalized. A fun, exciting experience for the customer was essential to her, so she made the blankets completely customizable. She also wanted to provide the talented seamstresses in Utah an opportunity to work. They were restricted in their ability to work because they couldn’t afford daycare. By allowing them to sew the blankets in their own homes, Sandi has affected the lives of numerous women in Utah. She believes in what she is doing and how she is doing it. It's no wonder that she was recently named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

Building From Scratch with Jeff Flamm
61 perc 38. rész

My guest today is my friend and the unstoppable entrepreneur, Jeff Flamm. Jeff is a tech and real estate Titan, yet he grew up on a ranch tending cattle and hauling hay. It’s not the origin story you would think someone as wildly successful as he is would have, but Jeff says it’s what gave him an edge on his path to success. He can’t emphasize enough how knowing how to work and making your customer’s satisfaction central to it, is the key to a successful business.

The massive tech and real estate developments, worth hundreds of millions of dollars, he has built from scratch is a testament to his ideology. He is the CEO and founder of Infinite Mind, an incredible software called eyeQ, that boosts brain and reading enhancement. Over one million people and thousands of schools and businesses have used the eyeQ program. Jeff has also built massive real estate deployments valued at over $600 million such as RiverPark Business Centre, Enchanted Canyon, and Innovation Point Business Park in Lehi the heart of the Silicon Slopes. He is also a partner in Koloa Landing, an amazing resort in Kauai.

Don’t give up on your dreams before you even start. Just because you aren’t currently in the position you want to be in doesn’t mean you can’t be.  Work for an expert in the field you want to get involved in and learn from them. Go to the library, watch Youtube videos, do everything you can, and work hard to leverage yourself into success. Take that first step and listen to today’s podcast, then take the next and execute the wisdom you learn here today.

Branding Yourself Online with Ali Hynek
74 perc 37. rész

Today’s guest is my friend and amazing entrepreneur, Ali Hynek. She is the CEO and founder of Nena & Co, the “bohemian couture” fashion brand that focuses on handbags and textiles with a strong focus on design and marketing.  Nena & Co. celebrates the unique heritage and talents of artisans around the world working in countries such as Guatemala, Mexico, Ghana, Morocco, and the USA. Responsible growth and strong community are an integral part of their principles. They live by the tagline, Wearing Values. Nena & Co.'s success has allowed Ali to better the lives of hundreds of artisans and their families by providing a fair living wage, access to medical services, and offering opportunities for education.

Part of celebrating artisan's heritage is by creating a connection between them and the consumer. The driving force behind Nena & Co.’s marketing, her visual storytelling brings artisan’s stories straight to the consumer. It is overwhelmingly successful. In five years, Nena & Co. communities have formed around the world all on their own. That is thanks to a commitment to the values she finds important. As she says, don’t be afraid to be different. To create a great company, it can be unique and a little weird but not so far that you are all alone.

It's not an easy task, but if you can get focused and clear about what you want to bring to the world, as Ali has, you will succeed. Today’s podcast with Ali is a shining example of that. You wouldn’t think the fashion and technology industries could teach one another anything, but good things come from unexpected places. Be sure to watch today’s podcast and execute the wisdom Ali shares. I know everyone on my marketing team will be.

Creator Versus Consumer with John Sloan
34 perc 36. rész

Today’s guest, my friend John Sloan, shows you how to make a fortune in Software and Application Development. He is the president and founder of GrowTix, a Utah based event management software company. A development and software Jedi, John and his team created a killer video gaming show called Geex, launched the Salt Lake Tribunes first iPad and iPhone apps in 2011, and built a content management platform for the largest Arab media company in Dubai. GrowTix has clients in the US, Europe, and Canada and covers 180 comic conventions.

John is one of those people whose path to success was anything but straightforward. You can see it above in his wildly impressive resume. Maybe I should say his wildly impressive portfolio. John couldn’t emphasize enough how important it is to build a portfolio. Not just building one so you can say you have one, but to use it as a way to communicate to potential employers that you are passionate and driven. It’s a way to communicate that you are a creator.

We discuss how important (and fun!) it is to be a creator versus a consumer. Don’t get me wrong, John and I played video games when we were kids and still do now, but it wasn’t the only thing we did. Computers and video games sparked our respective passions in building computers and writing and developing software. John didn’t go to college, but he always, and still does, learned by finding the resources he needed and creating things hands-on.

It’s that kind of self-driven learning and passion that allows you as John says, “to identify and be prepared for key moments” in your life. Listen to and execute the wisdom John shares in today’s episode of my podcast. Your journey to success won’t become any more direct, but you will channel the drive and creativity within that will allow you to get there.

How to become a Famous Supermodel and TV Star! with Brooke Mangum
40 perc 35. rész

Success is not a lack of failure; it is the result of pushing through failure. I’ve faced roadblocks and fallen flat on my face plenty of times on my journey to success. Every one of my guests on my podcast has too. Failure means you are doing something, and every failure brings you a step closer to success as long as you keep going.

Today’s guest, Brooke Mangum, believes that to an extraordinary degree. The host of Fresh Living on KUTV, Brooke is a TV and radio personality and model. She has co-hosted Wasatch 360 on FOX and was on the USA Network television series, Summer Camp. Also, she was a radio personality with iHeart Media and was on stations all across the country. Before her career as a broadcaster, Brooke was an international fashion model and the face of many huge brands. In 2018 she founded Opta Naturals, which is now an industry leader in the hemp-derived supplements space.

Brooke is a Jedi Master, but she is also incredibly modest. She doesn’t credit her success to being the best but to working hard and showing up every day. She didn’t wait for opportunities to come her way, she made them. Cold calling modeling agencies, open casting, anything, and everything. For every yes Brooke heard, she received 100 no’s. You may not be the most talented or smartest person in the room, but your sheer effort can overcome that. That’s how she got her start at iHeart Radio. A radio host wanted her as his co-host, so she went to the station every day at five a.m. for six months, for free, to show them she meant business. I mean talk about tenacity.

Listen to and enjoy today’s podcast. Brooke’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and she has so many good things to say. Whatever you want to do, execute Brooke’s advice. It will provide you with the momentum and resilience you need to keep you motivated on your journey to success.

What You Do Not Who You Are with Tanya Vea
46 perc 34. rész

Tanya is a leader and a pioneer. As Vice President for Bonneville SLC, she is the first woman not only in her organization but the entire state of Utah to hold that position. Tanya has over 25 years of experience in media (TV, radio, digital and podcasts). She was an award-winning journalist for CBS and has led operations and acquisitions. She currently serves on the board of United Way of Salt Lake, the Utah Debate Commission and is a member of the Governor’s suicide prevention task force. Recently, she has been named to the NBC Affiliate Board. Tanya is doing a lot and continues to do what she wants. She has turned down opportunities that would be an amazing addition to any resume because they didn’t align with what she wants to do.

Tanya’s decisiveness is inspiring. It was one of the first things that struck me about her, and we discussed how instrumental it has been to her career and life. If it felt right or allowed her to learn something, she said yes. She believes in making decisions not sitting on the fence. If it isn’t the right decision, that’s okay. Adjust and correct course, but you will never grow and get clear about who you are if you don’t make a choice.

Money for Entrepreneurs! with Brock Blake
31 perc 33. rész

Today’s guest, my friend Brock Blake, is proof of that. He is the CEO and founder of Lendio, an Inc. 500 CEO, national keynote speaker, Forbes columnist, and Utah’s Emerging Executive of the Year. Lendio is the largest online marketplace of business loans in the U.S. Brock believes that access to capital should be simpler and quicker for small business owners. Lendio has facilitated over $1.5 billion in loans to small businesses. Brock and his team donate a percentage of funds to low-income entrepreneurs around the world through Kiva.org.

Today’s podcast with Brock is full of wisdom, but one of my favorites is nail it, then scale it. Essentially it means identify product-market fit; what your customer and price point look like. Test the product in the market on a small scale to create and refine the model, the system (nail it). Once that model is crystal clear, you scale it. It allows you to get real feedback on your product and find out if it is truly viable or not. Only receiving feedback from family and friends is one of the common mistakes new entrepreneurs make. They won’t give you the blunt truth because they are invested in you and don’t want to hurt your feelings. It’s nice, but it doesn’t serve your purpose.

This week’s guest is Stu Stanek, president of the Great West Region for iHeart Media, the nation’s leading media company. With 41 years of experience, he’s done it all. Stu worked his way up from a salesperson to region president for two public companies. You’d think he would be burnt out after this much time in the business, but I swear this guy’s energy level just keeps going up. He’s brilliant and never stops learning. He masterfully designs and executes marketing plans for countless successful businesses, mine included. Seriously, Stu is no joke. Working with him has brought us millions in revenue. I’m not exaggerating. The return of investment with him is amazing. A lot of that comes from the two main topics we discuss on this week’s episode - learning to shut up, listen, and hear what is on your customer’s mind, and being consistent and balanced in your marketing strategy. That all works into similar philosophies the two of us share when it comes to the key to success - finding out the pains people suffer from and figuring out a solution to solve them and make them happy.

On top of that, Stu is a Utah resident like me and a friend. I’m constantly learning when I’m around him, he encourages me to be better and celebrates my successes with me. As always, thanks for listening. I hope you enjoy and put what you learn today into actions to help you on your way to becoming a millionaire.
