On that show we will also be a little more nostalgic for our 10-year journey together.
If you have any comments or questions about us or the show, please email us at MovieBSpdx@gmail.com and we will include some of them in our May episode.
Thank you. Truly. We appreciate that you listened.

Our last Sundance report has discussion of these movies: "The Incredible Jessica Jones," "Brigsby Bear," "Ingrid Goes West," "L.A. Times," "The Hero," "Lady Macbeth," "Manifesto."
It's the morning after the condo party and we are party-tired. Also, we talk about "Fun Mom Dinner," "Lemon," and "Get Out."
We talk about movies "Before I Fall," "Call Me By Your Name," and "XX," as well as the apocalyptic Park City weather, midnight screenings, and Jeff's adventures at parties.
From the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, we speak of movies called "I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore," "Person to Person," "Landline," and "The Yellow Birds," and restaurants called Burger King.

QOTW: What movie-related gift would you love to get for Jeff Bayer on his birthday (July 14)? You can give one realistic answer and one fantasy answer. Jeff will choose the best answers and praise that person.
On June 30, to pass the time while driving the U-Haul full of the Bayers' stuff to San Diego, our friend Mike Khavul interviewed us. We talked about the current state of film, what we'd criticize if there were no movies, how we came to be friends, and a lot of other things. It's an hour long, and the recording conditions (the cab of a U-Haul traveling 55 mph on I-5 in central California) were not pristine. Nonetheless, Movie B.S. devotees may find it amusing. Or not. Look, it's free.

It was Jeff Bayer’s turn to write the summary for Episode 79 of Movie B.S with Bayer and Snider, but he forgot to do it before he left for the airport and Eric D. Snider had to do it instead. This is really symptomatic of the problems in Jeff and Eric’s professional relationship, and it’s only a matter of time before it comes to a head. In the meantime, on the show they both raved about “50/50,” the funny and touching cancer comedy-drama starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. Both critics also agreed on “Dream House”: it’s terrible. They both liked the gory horror comedy “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil,” too, though Eric liked it more than Jeff did. See? This is what I’m talking about. A perfectly good horror comedy like “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil,” and Jeff doesn’t appreciate it. He’s ungrateful. I guess that’s what it is. He’s just ungrateful. But anyway. Sorry. Jeff saw Anna Faris’ new comedy “What’s Your Number?” and said it’s really bad, so we’re taking his word for it. Then the show got cut a little short because — surprise, surprise — Jeff selfishly had to fly out of town to join his wife and celebrate their anniversary. Ugh. This guy.

QOTW: In conjunction with “The Ides of March,” which movie politician would have your vote? Any movie politician, any office.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider watched “Moneyball,” which is about baseball and math, and both critics approve. They were less enthusiastic about “Dolphin Tale,” though Eric thinks it’s worth taking the kids to. Jeff was down on the documentary “Pearl Jam Twenty,” and Eric didn’t see it because he doesn’t like the rock ‘n’ roll that you young people today listen to.

QOTW: Who’s your favorite sick (i.e., physically ill) movie character, and why?
For the first time ever in the history of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, film critics Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider talk about movies they like, don’t like and simply shrug at. First up is “Drive” starring Ryan Gosling. It falls under the “like” category (a lot). Next up is “I Don’t Know How She Does It” starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Can you guess what category this flick falls under? We answer the QOTW which was, “What actor or actress who normally plays a certain type of character could break out and play against type?” Of course there’s pimping, plus PROPAGANDA EXTRAVAGANZA (see details below). Both Jeff and Eric saw the original “Straw Dogs” and Eric saw the remake. Interquel is played with “Bull Durham” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”

QOTW (thanks to listener Dave Gibbons): How far have you ever driven to see a movie, what movie was it, and was it worth the drive?
There are many movies to talk about this week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, so it’s a good thing it’s a movie show. Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider both endorse “Warrior,” a sports movie with heart (and some plot contrivances). They also approve of “Contagion,” a virus medical thriller about death and disease and stuff. Eric loved the raucous sci-fi comedy “Attack the Block”; Jeff liked it OK. They were further split on the spiritual drama “Higher Ground,” which Eric loved and Jeff found boring.
Your QOTW for the next show: What actor or actress who normally plays a certain type of character could break out and play against type? Give us specific ideas of what he or she could do to change things up.
Film critics Eric D. Snider and Jeff Bayer talk movies, pimp and play a game. Come join us, won’t you? First up is “The Debt” starring Helen Mirren, Jessica Chastain, and Sam Worthington. Eric liked it, Jeff verged on love. Jeff also plays a little of his interview with Mirren and company. “Shark Night 3D” and “Apollo 18″ weren’t screened for critics, so we have no idea what level of bad they are. We did answer the QOTW which was: In honor of “Apollo 18,” which presents a horror twist on the Moon landing, what other historical event could be given the horror treatment?
Next up is “A Good Old Fashioned Orgy” starring Jason Sudeikis and a bunch of others. Both critics enjoyed it enough, though Jeff found it a little tame. They play a rousing game of PITCH ME starring Richard Gere and Scott Baio, yes THE Scott Baio. “The Adults in the Room” gets a one-week run at Cinema 21. It’s from local Portland filmmaker Andy Blubaugh and even has a little Eric in it. Go see it!
Lots to talk about on Episode 74 of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. For one thing, it’s Eric’s birthday. Also, there were some movies. Jeff and Eric had possibly their biggest disagreement yet on “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”: Jeff hated it, Eric liked it a lot. You make the call! They agreed that “Colombiana” is a generic and overlong action movie. Jeff saw the documentary “Senna” and called it the best doc of the year so far; he was less fond of “Our Idiot Brother,” starring Paul Rudd. Bayer and Snider both liked “The Interrupters,” a respectable doc about stopping violence in inner-city Chicago, directed by the man who made “Hoop Dreams.” Finally, they talked to Evan Glodell, the writer/director/producer/star of “Bellflower,” which both guys loved. Evan was very enthusiastic about his movie. You should go see it.
QOTW: In honor of “Apollo 18,” which presents a horror twist on the Moon landing, what other historical event could be given the horror treatment? Give us your ideas, and we will steal them.
It’s the ’80s on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. First up is the remake of the ’80s horror film “Fright Night” starring Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell and Imogen Poots. Both Eric and Jeff were a fan of the film, though Jeff seems a little surprised by how much he liked it. Next, it’s the remake of the ’80s action flick that originally starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now it stars Jason Momoa and Jeff and Eric say it’s just a little bit crazy. Finally it’s the romance “One Day.” What does that have to do with the ’80s? Well it takes place over the course of many years, starting with 1988, so there. We answer the QOTW: What bad 1980s movie do you think could be remade into a good one?
Also, we have a special guest on the show next week! “Bellflower” opens in Portland on 8/26, and we’re going to have writer/director/star/producer/crazy person Evan Glodell on the show to talk about it! It will be fun! Let us know if you have any questions for him.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider have a lot of movies to talk about this week, so naturally they spend several minutes talking about unrelated tangents. But then, movies! “The Help” is a surprisingly effective story about race relations in the 1960s. Eric liked “Final Destination 5″ more than Jeff did, and they both thought “30 Minutes or Less” was okay. “The Guard” is a very funny Irish dark comedy, and Eric quickly recommended “The Future.” There was some good QOTW action, too, with many fine answers provided by the listeners.
QOTW: What bad ’80s movie do you think could be remade into a good one? Feel free to give casting ideas, too.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider do what they were born to do … and then they talk about movies. This week it’s the prequel “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Snider liked it and Bayer did as well. Then they discuss the QOTW: What other film should have a prequel? After that it’s on to discussing the absolutely filthy, and sometimes very funny “The Change-Up” starring Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds. Two independent films made it to Portland this week, “Another Earth,” which both of them saw, and “Tabloid” which Snider saw. This week’s game of Pitch Me stars David Spade and Mark Wahlberg. Finally, here’s your new Question of the Week …
QOTW: In honor of “The Help” – which tells the story of black maids in segregated Mississippi, what other groups’ historical stories should be told.
Jeff Bayer and a newly clean-shaven Eric D. Snider have much to discuss on this week’s edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. First up is “Cowboys & Aliens,” which neither gentleman found particularly appealing, although neither of them hated it either. “Crazy Stupid Love,” on the other hand, is a funny and surprising ensemble comedy about love, and how it’s stupid and crazy. Jeff saw “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” and says you shouldn’t. Nobody saw “The Smurfs,” so whatever. There was some good Question of the Week action regarding items that should be paired up in movies, and a fine edition of Pitch Me involving dames on a submarine.
QOTW: In honor of next week’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” what movie would you like to see a prequel to, and why?
This week on Movie B.S. our film critics Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider review a superhero, an office mate and friends … with benefits. First up is “Captain America: The First Avenger” starring Chris Evans and Tommy Lee Jones. Eric was a bigger fan, but we both had a few issues for very different reasons. There’s also Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis trying to have it all in “Friends with Benefits.” Both of us think it rises above the average romantic comedy. It’s very rated R. Jeff saw “A Little Help” so you don’t have to. Plus, we play Jeff’s interview with Chris Evans (“Captain America”) and also Eric’s column Snide Remarks.
Want to see “Cowboys & Aliens” early? We’re giving away a pair of tickets for Tuesday night in Portland. Go to our Facebook page and tell us you want to go.
QOTW: With “Cowboys & Aliens” coming out, what other two things should go together to become a movie?
Did you know they made another Harry Potter? They did! It’s a fitting conclusion to the big saga, as Jeff and Eric convey in this week’s episode of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” Also terrific is “Winnie the Pooh,” an innocent and whimsical throwback to the old Disney shorts. Jeff reports that “A Better Life” is awfully hard to watch on account of being depressing; Eric reports that “Terri” is a vulgar “Napoleon Dynamite” clone that’s only so-so. There’s also a nice round of Interquel. New QOTW: What movie best represents/symbolizes/encapsulates America? Plus! Portland DVD/Bluray shop Disc E. Business is hosting appearances by Walter Koenig and Grace Lee Whitney from the original “Star Trek” series! They’ll be there signing autographs and stuff on Aug. 20 and 21, and “Movie B.S.” listeners can get a discount on merchandise! Go to DiscEBusiness.net, click “events” and then on the Movie B.S. logo.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, we’re only talking about two movies hitting wide release. First up, it’s “Horrible Bosses” starring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Jeff was really excited for this one and decided it was simply good, not great. Eric liked it a little bit more. Next up the “family” comedy “Zookeeper” starring Kevin James. The animals talk, but both Jeff and Eric don’t think you should listen. We answer last week’s QOTW: In honor of “Horrible Bosses,” tell us about a horrible boss you’ve had. We also update our Summer Box Office Challenge explaining how Eric can still get Jeff to shave him. Finally, it’s a game of Pitch Me with Sylvester Stallone and Jon Hamm.
QOTW: In honor of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ what movie most deserved to be split in two parts?
For the Fourth of July, Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are celebrating freedom from great movies. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and “Larry Crowne” are both lousy, and “Monte Carlo” is only so-so. Jeff saw the New York Times documentary “Page One” (Eric didn’t) and says it’s pretty good, if you like newspapers and journalism and stuff. “Transformers” provides a good excuse to talk about toys that should be made into movies; the guys update their box-office competition; and Eric reads more iTunes reviews in old-timey voice.
QOTW: In honor of next week’s “Horrible Bosses,” tell us about a horrible boss you’ve had.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are … wait for it, wait for it … talking movies this week on “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” First up is Pixar’s animated sequel “Cars 2″ starring Larry the Cable Guy. Yes, he’s the lead. Jeff and Eric don’t hate this movie, but it’s the worst of the Pixar bunch. They also dive into what this “Cars” world means. Next up is “Bad Teacher” starring Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel. Two of those three aren’t that funny in this R-rated comedy. “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop” shows Conan (warts and all) after being fired from “The Tonight Show” and focuses on his comedy tour. The boys play Interquel with “Gremlins” and “40 Year-Old Virgin.” This week’s QOTW is dedicated to “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and it’s this …
QOTW – “What toy should be made into a movie?”
Jeff and Eric have four movies to discuss on this week’s edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider! “Green Lantern” is reasonably entertaining fun, nothing great but not bad. “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” is an atrocity that Jeff and Eric hated. “The Trip” has two funny British guys, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, traveling around being funny together. “The Art of Getting By” is every indie coming-of-age comedy you’ve ever seen. We address last week’s QOTW, and then there’s a rousing game of Pitch Me that yields both a good title and a good tagline.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider we’ve decided movies are good! First up, “Super 8″ from the creative genius minds of J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg. It’s a classic, fun ride. Next up is “The Tree of Life” from the creative genius mind of Terrence Malick. You have to bring something to the table to enjoy this movie about life, God and the universe, and you should make sure to see it in the theater. See this film. Only Jeff saw “Beginners” and you should too. Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer are fantastic. We update the box office challenge and all signs point to Jeff not having to shave Eric at the end of the summer.
QOTW – Tell us your experiences of someone’s like or dislike of a movie making it impossible for you to have a relationship/friendship with that person.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, Jeff and Eric disagree slightly on “X-Men: First Class.” Eric loved it, Jeff merely liked it. There’s a lot of friction over that. They both found Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” funny and delightful, though, and Eric recommends the bloody “13 Assassins” (which Jeff didn’t see) for those who like bloody Japanese things. QOTW is: What are your “dealbreaker” movies — movies that could prevent you from dating or being friends with someone if you found out they loved (or didn’t love) them? If you have any actual experiences with a relationship being damaged by disagreement over a movie, by all means, tell us! Jeff and Eric also played a game of Interquel that went all kinds of crazy.
We have two big sequels this week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. “The Hangover Part II” is a pretty close copy of the first film, with somewhat diminishing returns. “Kung Fu Panda 2,” on the other hand, is a worthy follow-up, with a good story and everything. Then we have a guest: “Saturday Night Live” writer Bryan Tucker, who’s been with the show six years and has plenty of inside scoop about how “SNL” comes into existence every week.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider the boys talks about “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” Arrrrr (that’s a pirate noise as well as our feelings). While Johnny Depp is still engaging as Captain Jack Sparrow, the new movie is very much like the last two. A lot of filler. Next up, Eric talks about “Hobo with a Shotgun” and is quite pleased with it. Then both of them discuss “Hesher” starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Rainn Wilson. Next they answer the QOTW and pose a new one – “What movies have you not seen that you feel you should have? Your “secret shame.” You might be surprised what Eric and Jeff haven’t seen. Plus, Dawn Taylor shows up to play Pitch Me.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider: “Bridesmaids” is quite funny! And raunchy, and has ladies instead of men! “Priest,” which wasn’t screened before it opened, is mediocre at best. “The Beaver” has Mel Gibson talking with a hand puppet. “Everything Must Go” has Will Ferrell drinking beer and sitting on the lawn. Your QOTW: What kind of role would you like to see Johnny Depp play next?
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, ’tis the season for summer movies. We start with talking about “Thor.” He’s the god of thunder, and now he’s mixed in with The Avengers clan. Next, Jeff saw “Jumping the Broom” while Eric tried, but failed. Finally, the boys sat through “Something Borrowed” and explain why you shouldn’t. Then, it’s all about summer movies. First, Jeff and Eric pick their most anticipated movies of the summer, with a twist. Then, they play a summer box office game that could lead to Eric shaving his beard. We need more suggestions for what Jeff should have to do if he loses, and what Eric should do if he loses.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, your favorite film critics express qualified admiration for “Fast Five,” which is dumb but fun, if too long for its own good. Jeff and Eric both liked “POM Wonderful Presents The Greatest Movie Ever Sold,” a Morgan Spurlock documentary about the business of product placement in movies. Bayer saw “Hoodwinked Too! Hood VS Evil,” for some reason, and says you should not do the same. Eric recounted a few Tribeca Film Festival highlights (be on the lookout for “The Good Doctor” and “Point Blank”), and they read some favorite drive-in experiences for QOTW. Next QOTW: What is your most anticipated summer movie?
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider … Bayer is back. He has returned from Africa, to grace the listeners with his presence. In his honor, Snider decided not to see any of the movies that were released this week. Well, that’s not exactly true. Bayer saw “Water for Elephants” starring Robert Pattinson, Christoph Waltz and Reese Witherspoon. The backdrop of the 1930s circus was his favorite part, the other stuff … not bad. The boys play a rousing game of Interquel, perhaps the best ever. The movies “Se7en” and “Inception” were used in the making of it. The QOTW is “What is your favorite drive-in theater experience?”
This week on “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider,” Jeff Bayer is still wherever the hell he is, but he and Eric D. Snider pre-taped reviews of “Super” and “Rubber” for your listening pleasure, along with a round of Pitch Me. So there’s plenty of Bayer! Eric also talks about “Rio,” “The Conspirator,” and “American: The BIll Hicks Story.” And then, live via satellite, horror maven Scott Weinberg talks to Eric about the “Scream” series, including a review of “Scream 4.” Scott’s cat Jones makes a silent cameo.
On this week’s very special edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, Jeff Bayer is in Africa, doing goodness knows what, but do not fear! He and Eric D. Snider pre-taped some stuff before he left, so the show still has your recommended daily allowance of Bayer. They both liked “Hanna” pretty well. In the studio, Mike Russell (@culturepulp on Twitter) and Snider agreed that “Arthur” is passable but nothing special. Via Skype, Matt Patches (@misterpatches) told us about “Soul Surfer,” and he and Snider expressed their disappointment in “Your Highness.” Then: pre-taped Pitch Me, with Henry Winkler and Natalie Portman! And all was well in the land.
Things are about to get all emotional up in here as Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider celebrates their one-year anniversary! They decide to
break from the norm, and for a change this week they’ll be reviewing movies. First up is “Source Code,” which both of them decidedly gave
good Gyllenhaal. Next up, Eric saw the horror flick “Insidious” and Bayer did not. But don’t worry, they both sat through “Hop” so you
don’t have to. Finally, Portland got “Win Win” starring Paul Giamatti, so the boys talk about it. Plus, there were tons of great responses for the QOTW “What was your best movie moment that you would want to relive?” This week’s QOTW is to win a copy of “TRON: Legacy” and it’s a bit of trivia … what episode to the current Movie B.S. theme song debut? Bayer is off to Africa (seriously) but don’t worry, there is a new show next week. That’s just the power of the internet!
On this week’s Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, Jeff and Eric would like you to know that “Sucker Punch” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” are both terrible. And they liked all of Zack Snyder’s other movies! Not “Sucker Punch,” though. (Jeff says the first “Wimpy Kid” was bad, too, and we’re taking his word for it.) “Jane Eyre,” on the other hand, is a lovely, evocative, romantic period piece, so you should go see it. QOTW action had some good “what alien would you like to meet?” answers. Next QOTW: What movie-watching experience would you most like to re-live? Note we’re not asking what movie do you want to re-watch, but what movie-watching *experience*.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider … it’s the most chaotic show we’ve ever done! Join us for chills, spills and special guest star Mike Russell! Eric was stranded at the airport, so we had Mike fill in while talking about “Paul” starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and the voice of Seth Rogen. While Mike liked it a little more than Jeff, the one thing that they both agreed on is that you should lower your expectations. Then Eric joined on a cell phone from Portland International Airport. Yes, the idea had its problems. Jeff talked about “Limitless” starring Bradley Cooper and what a nice surprise it was. After that is was all things SXSW. The boys quickly recapped their adventures at the film festival and the movies they saw. We’re continuing the QOTW “What movie alien would you want to land in your backyard and why?” For your chance to win a Blu-ray or DVD send us your answer to one of the following below. Thank you, and good day, sir.
Your old pals Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are off to Austin for South By Southwest, but that didn’t stop them from delivering a piping-hot new edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider first! All the movies this week are about aliens and monsters and stuff. “Battle Los Angeles” offers good action, too much shaky-cam, and war-movie cliches. “Red Riding Hood” is stupid. “Mars Needs Moms” is flat and lifeless. B & S also play a game of Interquel that gets dark and weird, announce the winners of last week’s propaganda contest, and add a few new agents to the Movie B.S. census. QOTW: What movie alien would you most like to find in your back yard, and why? (Note: No humanoids, e.g., Luke Skywalker.) Send your answers to moviebspdx@gmail.com, or post at facebook.com/moviebspdx. If you’re in Austin for SXSW, keep an eye on Twitter — @MovieBS, @EricDSnider, @BayerJeff — for a meet-up.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, film critics Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider start with a giveaway of “127 Hours” the only way they know how, with propaganda. They also quickly recap Jeff’s win with the Academy Awards and what that means for Eric. Then, it’s time for movie reviews. First up, “Rango” starring Johnny Depp. Love? Really like? Any way you cut it, go see it. Then it’s “The Adjustment Bureau” starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. Again, the boys agree this is a movie worth seeing. Then it’s “Take Me Home Tonight” and “Beastly.” One is better than the other. You can figure out which?
The pre-Oscars edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider has a special guest: Paul Tamasy, who’s nominated for an Academy Award for writing “The Fighter”! An actual Oscar nominee, on our stupid little show! Paul tells us about the process of researching and writing “The Fighter,” of working with Christian Bale and David O. Russell, and of his previous cinematic legacy, which was writing “Air Bud.” Paul joins in a quick round of Pitch Me, too. Bayer and Snider have an Oscar bet going, so watch for their predictions at facebook.com/moviebspdx and see who wins. As for the new movies this week, “Hall Pass” has its moments but is overall a loss, while “Drive Angry” is fun as far as insane grindhouse trash goes.
This week, film critics Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider talk about movies! First up, “Unknown” starring Liam Neeson and January Jones is not that bad, or pretty good, depending on how you look at it. “I am Number Four” is a sci-fi movie that Eric and Jeff have slightly different opinions on, tune in to listen to the tension! Eric sat through “Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son,” so that happened. Jeff sat through the documentary “I Am” and the critics had yet another difference of opinion with “Cedar Rapids.” Can you stand it? Next week, all signs point to the screenwriter Paul Tamasy being on our show. He’s even nominated for an Oscar for “The Fighter.” So now, the QOTW is simple, SEND US YOUR “THE FIGHTER” QUESTIONS!
In this week’s edition of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider,” Jeff and Eric agree that the best option for Valentine’s Day weekend is “The Eagle.” Not that it’s romantic, it just isn’t terrible. “Just Go with It” and “Gnomeo & Juliet,” on the other hand, are not pleasing to the senses. In limited release, “The Company Men,” starring Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones as newly unemployed white-collar guys, is worth checking out. Bayer and Snider also read your QOTW answers and give a new QOTW: What living actor or filmmaker would you most want to interview, and what would be the one question you’d have to ask if you did? Send your responses to moviebspdx@gmail.com, or post ‘em at www.facebook.com/moviebspdx. Finally, the guys give a few recommendations on what to see at the Portland International Film Festival, or PIFF, as the cool kids call it.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are both live and in the studio this week for a scintillating edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. “Sanctum” — a movie with which James Cameron is somehow vaguely affiliated — is about caves and underwater and stuff, and Bayer liked it more than Snider, although they both gave it the same grade. “The Roommate” wasn’t screened for critics. Wasn’t even screened for the yahoos who go to promotional screenings. Must be awesome! Bayer and Snider also discuss the answers to the QOTW (which two actresses should make a movie together?), and issue a new QOTW: What three films would you program for a mini-marathon for Valentine’s Day? Also, a rousing and controversial edition of Pitch Me involving race relations and mad scientists.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, Eric is once again off gallivanting (and watching movies) at the Sundance Film Festival. We bring in Mike Russell from the Oregonian to discuss Jason Statham’s new action movie “The Mechanic.” After he leaves, Jeff quickly runs through “The Rite” starring Anthony Hopkins (in a supporting role). Jeff wasn’t too keen on either one of them. After that it’s all things Oscar, talking about those films and people who missed out on a nomination, as well as Eric’s good times in Sundance. We also say goodbye to our Winnipeg fan (thanks to Kevin Smith), so now our Winnipeg is up for grabs and worth a free Blu-ray. Plus, send it your answers to the QOTW “What two women would you like to see star in a film together, and what would it be about?” Our favorite answer will get a DVD/Blu-ray. Send those answers to moviebspdx@gmail.com and follow us on Facebook.com/MovieBSpdx. I said good day.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider we review new movies and old(er) ones, Jeff does a lot of name dropping, and Eric does some festival dropping. First up is “No Strings Attached.” Jeff gives Eric plenty of reasons not to see it. Then the boys talk about “The Way Back,” which they both agree is good, but there are plenty of films you should see first. Speaking of which, they review “Blue Valentine,” “Rabbit Hole” and quickly talk about “Somewhere.” Jeff then talks about being at The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards where he knobbed hobs with Tim Roth, Matt Damon and Quentin Tarantino. There is no QOTW this week, so instead just simply send us some love.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider we have a very special guest … Geoff LaTulippe. He’s the screenwriter for the romantic comedy “Going the Distance” starring Justin Long and Drew Barrymore. Before we talk to him we review “The Green Hornet” starring Seth Rogen. Both of us felt like “Hornet” had its moments, but feels more like a rental. Snider saw “The Dilemma” and Bayer chose to see the Portland Trailblazers instead. It sounds like Bayer won this round. With LaTulippe we even squeezed in a game of Pitch Me starring Sam Rockwell, Burt Reynolds and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The QOTW is “What movie would be better if it had a superhero?”
Bayer and Snider ring in the new year in the traditional fashion, i.e., with a couple of movies that aren’t very good. “Season of the Witch” is dumb but fun; “Country Strong” is dumb and not fun. Bayer didn’t care much for “Casino Jack,” either, though he was intrigued by the vegan documentary “Forks Over Knives.” (Snider didn’t see those two.) The guys also interviewed the director of “Hood to Coast,” a documentary about the famous Oregon relay race, which you can watch on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Visit www.hoodtocoastmovie.com for more info. Your QOTW: What movie would be improved if it had a superhero in it. Explain your answers.
It’s the end of the year, so film critics Eric D. Snider and Jeff Bayer are giving you their Top Ten Movies of the Year. There are six that overlap, and by our math, four that don’t. Listen to find out what they are. Here’s a clue … “Toy Story 3″ and “Inception.” We also answer the QOTW, “What are the most overlooked movies of 2010?” As always you can check us out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MovieBSpdx and email us with your questions, suggestions, rants and anything else you can think of at moviebspdx@gmail.com. Thanks for listening in 2010, and we hope, in the new year as well.
In a special Christmas Eve episode of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider talk about how awful “Little Fockers” is, and how great “The King’s Speech” is, and how pretty-good “True Grit” is, and how nice the holidays are, and how Jeff’s knee is doing much better, thank you so much for asking. There’s also a holiday edition of Pitch Me, though Bayer tried to cheat by preparing some material in advance. Reminder for next week’s QOTW: What’s your favorite overlooked movie of 2010?
The holidays are coming and so are some movies totally worthy seeing. Eric D. Snider says “TRON: Legacy” is pretty to look at but not much else. Jeff Bayer disagrees and says it’s pretty to look at and more. “The Fighter” is a boxing movie worth your time with Christian Bale stealing many scenes away from Mark Wahlberg (not in a bad way). Eric didn’t see “I Love You Phillip Morris” but Jeff did and describes it as a gay “The Informant!” Thanks to knee surgery, Jeff didn’t sit through “How Do You Know” or “Yogi Bear” and that’s where Eric comes in to give you his take. They answer plenty of QOTWs and the next Question of the Week is “What is your favorite overlooked movie of 2010?”
Jeff Bayer is in L.A. hobnobbing with superstars while Eric D. Snider toils away in the studio, but Jeff is on the show anyway! Through the magic of telephones! Bayer and Snider discuss “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” (which isn’t particularly good), and Snider talks about “The Tourist” while Bayer doesn’t listen. They address the QOTW (movie locales you’d like to visit) and offer up a new one: In honor of “TRON: Legacy,” what movie from at least 20 years ago do you think would benefit from a sequel set at least 20 years later? Bayer talked about meeting Jeff Bridges and Barry Pepper, and he and Snider played a rousing game of Pitch Me involving Liam Neeson and Adam Sandler and a kid.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider have no movies to talk about this week. What ever shall they do? Well, even though “Black Swan” isn’t out in Portland yet, they’re reviewing (and loving) it. It stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis and is in major cities in limited release. “The Warrior’s Way” didn’t have an advance screening, but film.com and thescorecardreview.com will eventually have reviews up. With all this extra time, Bayer and Snider record a much-needed promo, they also play Interquel and answer the QOTW. More important than all of that, they insist you vote for Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider on http://www.podcastawards.com/. You can vote once every 24 hours. Make it so. Next week’s QOTW is “What movie location (real or fictional) would you most like to visit and what would you do there?”
It’s the post-Thanksgiving episode of Movie B.S., and Bayer and Snider are bloated. Which is inexcusable, since they taped the show on Wednesday. Snider is in the studio with a cold; Bayer is literally phoning it in. “Tangled” is solid, “Love and Other Drugs” is just okay, “Faster” is slower, and “Burlesque”… they didn’t see. Plus there’s Pitch Me, holiday talk, and a reminder for QOTW: what movie do you think should be remade, and why?
There are three big movies totally worth talking about and seeing this weekend, so let’s get to it. Eric D. Snider and Jeff Bayer agree the darker tone works for the almost final chapter of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” Both agree that after a slow, great buildup, “The Next Three Days” becomes a really good thrill ride starring Russell Crowe. Portland finally has “12y Hours” starring James Franco and directed by Danny Boyle, so go see it already. Once again, Bayer and Snider agree. A game of Pitch Me is played, but both think they’ve done better. This time around it’s Alan Rickman and Meg Ryan. Please keep sending your propaganda to moviebspdx@gmail.com and we’ll keep posting it to our Facebook page facebook.com/MovieBSpdx. The QOTW is “What movie should be remade and why?”
In which Bayer and Snider talk about “Unstoppable,” “Morning Glory,” “Skyline,” “The Freebie,” “Four Lions,” and “Monsters,” which are all movies that you could see. They also talk about their most anticipated movies for the rest of 2010, and congratulate the listeners on their marvelous propaganda efforts. Keep the propaganda coming!
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider the film critics review “Due Date,” “Megamind 3D” and “Fair Game.” Both critics agree that “Due Date” isn’t as funny as we all wanted it to be. Snider has a soft spot for Will Ferrell and that pushed him over the top with “Megamind,” while Bayer thinks it has a middle hour that will bore. “Fair Game” stars Naomi Watts and Sean Penn and Bayer loved it, saying it’s unofficially one of his Top 5 of the year. Snider couldn’t agree to that extent. Pitch Me was played with an anime film re-teaming Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank. “Like” our Facebook page (go to facebook.com/MovieBSpdx) and give us your Top 5 most anticipated movies until the end of the year.
It’s a special spooky edition of Movie B.S., in honor of the holy holiday this weekend. Bayer and Snider talk about “Saw 3D,” the only new wide release this weekend. And since Bayer hadn’t seen any Saws before, they watched the first one, too, in preparation. Lots of good ideas from listeners for Halloween movie marathons in QOTW. And we wrapped the Halloween-ish tale of the half guy who scared people in Utah. Next QOTW: Tell us two actors who have not done a movie together who totally should.
This week Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider decide to talk about movies! First up, It’s “Hereafter” with Matt Damon (in one-third of the film), directed by Clint Eastwood. Both decide it’s boring. On the other hand, if you liked “Paranormal Activity” then you’ll get more scares with “Paranormal Activity 2.” “Conviction” has made its way to Portland and Bayer likes it more than Snider. We’ve also started a Facebook page (just search for Movie B.S.). The QOTW is what would be your Halloween movie marathon (three movies in your specific order).
Film critics Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider spend a lot of time talking about all things jackass-y. The both agree “Jackass 3D” will make you laugh whether you like it or not. Plus, they give personal stories from jackass moments in their lives. The critics review “RED” starring Bruce Willis is something you’ve seen before. They give the others movies (“Freakonomics,” “Stone” and “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger” two minutes each. Then, it’s time for Interquel. This week they combine “Shawshank Redemption” and “The Wizard of Oz.” The QOTW (question of the week) is “What is your favorite movie related Halloween costume?”
It’s another show jam-packed with movies, so many of them that a time limit must be enforced. “Secretariat” gets a big ol’ “meh” from Bayer and Snider; “My Soul to Take” is one of the worst, most bafflingly bad horror films they’ve seen in a while; “Life As We Know It,” despite its premise, isn’t awful, but ‘taint good neither; “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” is a fairly good comedy about depressed teenagers; “Never Let Me Go” is faithful to its source material, especially in conveying the emotions of it; and “Waiting for Superman” is a somewhat dry but important documentary about our crappy, crappy schools. There’s also talk of people’s favorite ball-free sports movies — lots of boxing, running, and kicking. Next QOTW: In honor of “Jackass 3D,” tell us about some dumb jackass-style stuff you’ve done in your own live.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are back live! We’re talking about two really good films that hit the screens this week: ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Let Me In.’ Both decided ‘The Social Network’ is a must see. Then, since we were gone last week it was time for rapid-fire reviews. We gave three minutes each to “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” “Catfish,” “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole,” “The Virginity Hit,” “Jack Goes Boating,” “Case 39,” and “You Again.” We also blew the Question of the Week, but we have one for next week. What is your favorite sports movie without a ball? In other words, no football, baseball, basketball, etc. No balls!
This week’s episode pays tribute to a time-honored cop-out device: the clip show. Bayer and Snider are both out of town this week and weren’t able to pre-tape a new show before they went their separate ways, so here’s a compilation of moments from previous episodes that perhaps are not entirely unamusing. Enjoy this trip down memory lane, won’t you? Live show is back next week.
In this week’s edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider it is revealed that Ben Affleck is a good director and actor and we shouldn’t make fun of him anymore. “The Town” is solid cops-and-robbers fun! Also fun is “Easy A,” a teen satire, though Bayer and Snider differed on just how much fun it is. They agreed that “Devil” — not screened for critics, so they had to catch it at midnight Thursday night, like chumps — isn’t worth your time. There was further discussion of Joaquin Phoenix’s “I’m Still Here,” recently revealed as a performance rather than a documentary, and the boys played a rousing, perhaps doomed game of Interquel involving “Outbreak” and “Spider-Man.”
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider the boys had to go see a midnight screening of "Resident Evil: Afterlife" in 3D, because that's the kind of dedicated film critics they are. The 3D is great, the movie is crap. Then, Bayer tries to talk to Snider about "I'm Still Here" without giving away any details. It's difficult. The last film they review is "Centurion" (they did not save the best for last). The boys also recap their Top 5 movies of the summer, and Snider talks about his trip to the Telluride Film Festival. Plus, there was enough time to play Pitch Me, this week starring Betty White and Dan Aykroyd. The QOTW this week is "most memorable movie accent?" in tribute to "The Town."
The first fall episode of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider” has many exciting treats! For one thing, Dawn Taylor — of PDX.fm’s “Ham-Fisted Radio” and “Legion of News” — visits Jeff and Eric for the entire hour, to discuss “Machete,” “The American,” and “Going the Distance,” and also to play Pitch Me, and also to eat a bagel. Plus, there are time-travel shenanigans involving Jeff and Eric’s visit to “Ham-Fisted Radio,” which took place after “Movie B.S.” but was broadcast before it (because “Movie B.S.” was pre-taped this week), and it’s very complicated. Your QOTW for next week: In honor of “The Virginity Hit,” who’s your favorite movie virgin and why?
Snider’s birthday was pretty much the most important topic on “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider” this week, with the movies “The Last Exorcism” (good) and “Takers” (not so good) taking second place. Jeff and Eric also discussed listeners’ favorite scary scenes from movies, a large number of which came from “Signs” and “The Ring.” And Jeff met John Malkovich! And then told a story about it. Next QOTW: Who is your favorite movie couple? We’re talking romance here, or at least the possibility of romance.
It’s our 21st episode, so that means we can finally drink during the show! There are five films in wide release and Bayer and Snider didn’t have time to see them all. ‘Piranha 3D’ is going to cost you, but it’s pretty good campy fun if you’re in the mood for blood and boobs. ‘The Switch’ is not as awful as it sounds, thanks mainly to Jason Bateman. Snider saw ‘Vampires Suck’ and believes they stole a joke from his illustrious catalogue. ‘Nanny McPhee Returns’ and ‘Lottery Ticket’ were not watched. Deal with it. Interquel makes a comeback with ‘Hoosiers’ and ‘Fight Club.’ And the boys answer the QOTW and give you a new one … “What is your scariest movie scene?” The movie itself doesn’t have to be scary, just the moment.
There are plenty of new movies to talk about on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider this week, including the excellent “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” Jeff and Eric could spend the whole hour talking about this inventive, funny, groundbreaking movie. (They don’t.) “Eat Pray Love,” on the other hand, is way too long and way too self-indulgent, though fans of the book might dig it. “The Expendables” has some fun action but isn’t as good as a movie with this cavalcade of action stars should be. In limited release, “Get Low” is worth checking out. Jeff and Eric play Pitch Me in honor of Friday the 13th. QOTW: Tell us about movies that you think are really good, but that disturbed you in an emotional or visceral way when you watched them.
It’s a moist day at the PDX.fm studios as Jeff and Eric present another sweaty edition of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. “The Other Guys” is pretty solid Will Ferrell comedy if you ask Snider; quite a bit less solid if you ask Bayer. Snider sort of has a Will Ferrell thing, though. There’s a discussion of the listeners’ favorite cop movies, and Bayer is a little upset that people give a big list when we only asked for ONE. The guys dip into the mailbag to address some theme song-related questions, and they also play a new game! It’s called Interquel! Some innuendo occurs. The next QOTW: What are your favorite guy movies (in honor of “The Expendables”)?
Welcome to another fun-filled episode of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. The boys talk about “Dinner for Schmucks” starring Paul Rudd
and Steve Carell. They agree on most things, especially Carell stealing the show. “Charlie St. Cloud” with Zac Efron is not awful. Surprising, isn’t it? Snider sat through “Cat and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” and didn’t mind it. But then all things turned to “Eureka” with special guest star Jaime Paglia. He’s the executive producer and writer of the Syfy show in its fourth season. We talk James Callis, Wil Wheaton and what goes into making the show. Plus, Paglia joins the boys in “Pitch Me.” The QOTW for next week’s show is “Favorite Cop Movie.” Email your answers to moviebspdx@gmail.com
Jeff and Eric recommend a low-”Salt” diet on this week’s edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. “Ramona and Beezus,” on the other hand, is a cute and sweet movie that you could take the kids to. “Winter’s Bone” is a solid indie drama that you should not take the kids to, unless they like movies about hillbilly meth farmers. Jeff and Eric also discuss their favorite books from childhood, an upcoming casual meet-up at Ground Kontrol, Jeff’s over-indulgence at yesterday’s Brewfest, and Eric’s mother’s bladder. QOTW for next week: What’s a movie that you drastically changed your opinion of, either from love to hate or hate to love? E-mail moviebspdx@gmail.com
Good news, everyone! “Inception,” which Eric and Jeff both had pegged as their most-anticipated film of the summer, turned out to be fantastic. They talk about it — spoiler-free — in this week’s Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. They also discuss “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” which is reasonably fun family entertainment, and “The Kids Are All Right,” which is good but not for the whole family. Then there’s a new game, SwitchFix; discussion of the QOTW (most disappointing films), and a new QOTW for next week: What were your favorite books as a kid (’cause “Ramona and Beezus” is coming out)? E-mail moviebspdx@gmail.com.
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, both of our fearless critics sit down to watch “Predators” and have a pretty good time in the process. “Despicable Me” starring Steve Carell’s voice has moments, but not much else. Bayer talks about “The Girl Who Played With Fire,” but Snider remains silent since he still hasn’t seen “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.” Then is a big, heaping pile of mail bag as they answer the QOTW and other questions from our readers. We’re still taking game suggestions and our new QOTW is “What movie were you most excited about, and then it turned out terrible?” Email that to moviebspdx@gmail.com.
Jeff and Eric have a lot to say not just about movies but about certain movies’ fans, in this week’s edition of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” “Eclipse” is the best of the three “Twilight” movies so far — but don’t tell that to people who hate all things “Twilight,” no matter what, always, forever! “The Last Airbender” is a stifling and terrible adaptation of a popular cartoon series — but don’t tell that to people who love the cartoon series and can’t bear the thought of the movie being bad! (“Cyrus” is good, though. Go see it.) Jeff and Eric also discuss press junkets and the whoredom thereof, teen romances, and next week’s QOTW: What’s a movie you love that it seems like everyone else hates? It’s our lucky 13th episode on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. We start the show talking about how Eric’s friend Kourtney was unlucky at last night’s Portland Beavers game. Once we finally get to movie talk, with both agree “Knight and Day” is a good time at the movies this summer. “Grown Ups” is barely worth talking about, but we still manage. Last week’s Pitch Me gets the best title ever (“Carbon Night”) and this week’s includes Kate Winslet, Bill Pullman and special guest star Colin Firth. Our QOTW (Question of the week) is “What is your favorite teen romance?” Email your answers to moviebspdx@gmail.com
Jeff and Eric have great news to report in this episode of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider”: After several weeks of so-so releases, there’s finally a truly great film. It’s called “Jonah Hex.” No, just kidding, “Jonah Hex” is lousy. But “Toy Story 3″ is brilliant! They also answer the QOTW and pose a new one — what’s your favorite immature comedy? — and talk to Jeff’s dad for Fathers Day. Plus there’s Fixer & Defender, Pitch Me, and assorted merriment. It’s 1984 all over again this week on “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” They agree on the two big releases this week. “The Karate Kid” is worth the time, even though it runs a little long. “The A-Team” on the other hand, is a little messy and doesn’t do anything particularly well. Pitch Me unites Sylvester Stallone and Tim Allen in “Witch Doctor?” Plus Fixer & Defender is back with “Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.” We answer the QOTW (Question of the Week) and give you a new one … What is the best Part 3 in movie history? “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider” hits the double digits this week — show number 10! In celebration, Eric and Jeff agree that “Get Him to the Greek” is the best offering of new films this week, and that “Killers” should be left dead on the floor. They haven’t seen “Marmaduke,” but come on. Eric loves the creepy and insane “Splice,” while Jeff adamantly does not; there is debate. Also, Robin Williams’ career is revived in “Pitch Me,” and listeners are given a new assignment in Question of the Week: tell us your favorite remakes. E-mail us at moviebspdx@gmail.com
In a shocking turn of events, Jeff actually succeeded in getting a guest for “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider”! It was John Solomon, a “Saturday Night Live” writer, and co-writer of the “MacGruber” movie, which Jeff and Eric both liked a lot, and not just because they were having John Solomon on the show. He talked about writing for “SNL,” and about the disappointing “MacGruber” box office. He also helped Jeff and Eric with “Pitch Me,” coming up with a fantastic Western romance. Oh, and “Sex and the City 2″ isn’t very good, and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” is so-so, the end.
Welcome to the season finale of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. In this week's show the two agree that "MacGruber" is not, in fact, the waste of time you think it is. It's pretty dang funny. They disagree on "Shrek Forever After" or "Shrek The Final Chapter" or whatever it's called and give quick reviews for "The Square," "Mother and Child" and "The Human Centipede. The two attempt to fix last week's debacle of "Pitch Me" with help from the viewers and in a season finale twist no one say coming, the show has a mortal enemy. Stay tuned for next week as Season Two begins at the exact same time, and the exact same place. Email questions to moviebspdx@gmail.com
It’s a sad day for Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, on account of all the movies this week are lousy. “Robin Hood”: long and slow. “Letters to Juliet”: pretty generic rom-com. “Just Wright”: just wrong. Still, Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider managed to disagree on the extent to which each of the movies is bad. Then they talked about “The Apple,” a futuristic musical from 1980; played a depressing round of Pitch Me involving Carrot Top and Ben Affleck; and read some viewer mail. Speaking of which, send them some e-mails at moviebspdx@gmail.com!
It’s officially summertime. Trust us, we’re movie critics. This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider we talk about the first big summer blockbuster, “Iron Man 2″ starring Robert Downey Jr. and a slew of other famous faces. We both agree you’ll have a good time, but won’t be blown away. Bayer tells everyone, including Snider, to go see Oscar winner “The Secret in Their Eyes,” and both critics understand babies are cute, but the movie “Babies” grows tiresome. Our first guest joins Movie B.S. and it’s Momma Snider! Plus, a summer movie preview, a rousing game of “Fixer and Defender,” and we dive into the B.S. mail bag for the first time. In a turn of events no one could have foreseen, the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is terrible! So say Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider both in this episode of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. And while neither of them saw "Furry Vengeance," they're pretty sure it's terrible, too, and Eric offers some tips on how to tell the two movies apart. There's also some talk of the Tribeca Film Festival, of Jeff's bicycling and volleyballing prowess, and a Pitch Me movie idea involving Judi Dench and time travel.
Jeff is out of town, so Eric's pal Andy Blubaugh, a Portland filmmaker, fills in. They review "The Back-Up Plan" together, and Eric reviews "The Losers." They also discuss Andy's film, "The Adults in the Room," in which Eric plays a tiny role.
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider both agree “Kick-Ass” is a good old violent time in the third episode of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” “Death at a Funeral” isn’t a big winner, and Snider compares it to the original British version. Snider may just have a chance to beat Bayer in Fixer & Defender as Bayer stumbles through “Star Wars — Episode II: Attack of the Clones.” Most importantly, in Pitch Me the critics come up with a Christopher Walken/Sam Elliott movie that can’t be missed.
“Date Night” gets approval from both Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider in this, the second episode of “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” Somewhat less approved in “The Runaways.” Jeff and Eric also make fun of the insane things that happen in Tyler Perry’s latest movie, play a round of Fixer and Defender with Kevin Smith’s “Cop Out,” and share weird memories of “Mary Poppins.”
In their premiere episode, Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider rip on "Clash of the Titans" (especially its cheap 3-D) and Miley Cyrus' "The Last Song." They also discuss 1983's "Hercules" (starring Lou Ferrigno) and try to make up a Samuel L. Jackson/Michelle Pfeiffer movie on the spot. And for some reason Jeff says "all the sudden" instead of "all of a sudden."
