Surprise!
Just when you thought we'd left for the year, we sneak back with an exclusive chat with the brains behind 'Death to 2020' - the surprise mockumentary created by the brains behind 'Black Mirror' - Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones.
Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Lisa Kudrow, Joe Keery, Leslie Jones, Kumail Najiani and Diane Morgan, 'Death to 2020' is sure to give this year the send off it deserves. Well, we assume it will anyway, as this was SUCH a surprise, we haven't even seen it yet!
Never mind though - Tolly and Gena still managed to squeeze some juicy intel out for your pleasure. So, whilst you're waiting for 27th December to arrive - think of this as the little present mum allowed you to open early, for being really, really good.
Thanks so much to Charlie and Annabel for their time.
See you in 2021!
For our final episode of 2020, we'd like to take you to Shondaland if we may?
Bridgerton is the latest masterpiece to come from Shondaland - Shonda Rhimes' production company. Set in high society London and based on Julia Quinn's best-selling novels, the series arrives on Netflix UK this Christmas Day.
G&T got the opportunity to talk to one of it's stars, Nicola Coughlan, about the show, what it's like to become part of Rhimes family and (of course) a few words on some other show she was in called "Derry Girls" (we stan). She is by far one of the happiest and loveliest people we've ever met!
As well as 'Bridgerton' the girls also recommended these titles, available to watch now:
We will see you in 2021 - have a lovely festive period and thank you for all your support. Please say hello on socials using #1010

You know the phrase "Good things happen to good people"? Well, in our penultimate episode before the Christmas break, Gena and Tolly caught up with the person that phrase was invented for - Quinta Brunson.
Quinta was their colleague from 'Ye Olde Buzzfeed Days' who has gone on to do amazing things with HBO and - the reason for our episode - the incredible 'Big Mouth', which is back for it's fourth season. Safe to say the three were NOT short of conversation!
As well as 'Big Mouth' the girls also recommended:

We guarantee there's not a single person reading this that won't have had their lives improved by today's guest. Chris Columbus' filmography reads like a list of childhood memories - From writing 'The Goonies' and 'Gremlins', discovering and directing Macaulay Culkin in the Home Alone movies and then enchanting a whole new generation with the first three Harry Potter movies - it's pretty safe to say, he's a flipping Christmas filmmaking genius. So to celebrate his latest - 'The Christmas Chronicles 2' arriving on Netflix, get those headphones on and prepare for an unexpectedly emotional cinematic masterclass.

Joining Tolly and Gena this week is Rich Hawkins, who is in charge of every Youtube video Netflix UK make - what a dream job! Not only is he extremely adept at sucking you into a video rabbit hole full of Easter eggs and BTS action, he's also incredibly entertaining company - as the girls found out!

'His House' tells the tale of a refugee couple from South Sudan, struggling to adjust to English life - especially as evil seems to have moved with them. Remi talks about its aesthetic and story, before diving into some seriously good Halloween movie recommendations.

Criminal is one of the most gripping crime dramas ever made. It's unique format really nails the intensity of the situation and, as we already know the police have got their criminal, we're thrown deep into the detail of how the cops get them behind bars.
Aside from the intensity of the script, it's perfomances are simply stunning. Whether it's the conveyor belt of stars such as Kit Harrington and Sharon Horgan playing the criminals, the duty solicitors trying to protect them - or the familiar faces of the police - everyone on set brings their absolute A game.
Katherine Kelly plays DI Natalie Hobbs, and here she discusses what a fantastic experience both watching AND making the show is.
The ever wonderful Robert Sheehan caught up with Netflix's Jamie East to talk all things Klaus.
As is the way with Robert, the conversation takes many weird and wonderful turns - leading us through the wonderful world of Doris Stokes and Crocodile Dundee 2.
What's that got to do with the greatest dysfunctional family of super-powered misfits? Well, there's only one way to find out!
The Umbrella Academy is available on Netflix right now.
What to Watch on Netflix will be back with a new season very soon. In the meantime - feel free to contact us over on Twitter @NetflixUK.

Nothing unites AND divides people as much as Sport. It generates such fevered passion, it's no surprise it's one of the most successful parts of Netflix. Whether it's the fantastic story of Michael Jordan, or the insane journey of Maradona - we love to see it!
Dotty chews the fat with three great guests - Victoria Pendelton CBE is a master of her craft, Frank Warren is the brains behind some of the biggest sporting events in history and Ben Turner has produced some of the greatest sports documentaries ever made. It;'s a cracking conversation.
Programmes currently available on Netflix discussed in this episode include:
Whether it's eligibility for awards, or the creative freedom (and generous budgets) given to makers, films on Netflix have been a hot topic of conversation for the last few years. Whether it's epics such as 'Da 5 Bloods', 'The Irishman' or 'Roma' - action blockbusters like 'Extraction' or '6 Underground' - or even classics like 'The Lord of the Rings' - film plays a huge part in the Netflix experience.
Dotty chats to three passionate experts who's ACTUAL job it is to watch films - how jammy is that?!

Thanks to podcasts like Serial and shows such as Don't F*** with Cats, we all consider ourselves proper armchair Detectives.
The True Crime drama has EXPLODED over recent years - so it would be churlish for Ditty not to examine the evidence and form a perimeter around this podcast episode. Our guests not only know all about catching killers, but also about how to go about making the shows you are loving.
Shows discussed in this episode:
Dark, a German language series about to embark on its third and final season, takes everything you think you know about the rules of the time-travel genre, tears them into shreds and shoves them right up your flux capacitor.
It is a riveting thriller which, like all great shows, begins as something relatively linear (a missing child case) and expands into an examination of something incredibly profound. ‘The Wire’ became an ode to fate, ‘The Sopranos’ chose life and death - and ‘Dark’ ponders what the fundamentals of time means to humanity - suggesting this part of life is our real God.
It's creators Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese talk about these principals, the cast, the insane planning behind such a complex show and the big question... Dubbing or Subtitles!
Joining Dotty for this slightly grown up chat about family viewing are Ellie Gibson and Helen Thorn, otherwise known as podcast legends Scummy Mummies, and Anna Whitehouse AKA Mother Pukka.
We got through LOADS of recommendations for kids of all ages (including the grown up ones), including:
- Peppa Pig
- Adventure Time
- Teen Titans
- Paw Patrol
- Go Jetters
- Dead to Me
- Benji
- All Hail King Julien
- Nailed It
- A Series of Unfortunate Events
- Larva Island
- Little Lunch
- Chico Bon Bon
- Disenchantment
- The Dark Crystal
- White Fang
- Stranger Things
- The Office
- Modern Family

On the eve of the release of Spike Lee's new film 'Da 5 Bloods', the Oscar winning director spoke to Jamie East about the perils of filming in the jungle, the prejudices shown towards African American vets and the events of recent weeks.
With the protesters of the world pleading for justice for George Floyd still ringing in his ears, Spike has never been more needed.
Da 5 Bloods arrives on Netflix on June 12th.
Reality TV is part of our culture, whether you love it or loathe it (let's be honest, you flipping love it). From it's early roots in the form of shows like Big Brother or Pop Idol, it changed the landcape of Entertainment TV forever - and now in the era of Love is Blind, Love Island and Too Hot to Handle - there are new kings on the block.
Discussing all things reality with Dotty are Yewande from Love Island, Kelechi Dyke from Too Hot to Handle and Lucie Cave - who rode in tandem with the success of Reality TV as Editor of Heat Magazine. It's a cracking discussion.

If you haven't seen Cheer yet, you are in for an absolute treat. This 6 part documentary series focuses on the personalities and journeys of a group of Cheerleaders in the small town of Corsicana , Texas. On the face of it, this is a show about acrobatics, tumbling and fierce competition - but scratch below the surface and it's like no show you've seen before. It is a compelling and gripping look at empathy, acceptance, determination and family in all it's guises.
How does that narrative translate over here in the UK? Well, Dotty found out when we invited London's finest Cheerleading troupe, Ultimate Cheer, in to discuss what they love about the show - and how closely it resembles their own experiences.
Then, in an unexpected turn of events, we got a call from Cheer superfan Rob Rinder who took us down an incredible rabbit-hole as he talked about why the show means so much to him.

Jamie also spent a few minutes chatting to Lana Wilson - the director who had the amazing task of following Taylor Swift around for a few years to give us a glimpse into the life of the world's biggest star!

Don't worry if you're feeling a bit of FOMO because Jamie caught up with all round brilliant guy and Japanese culture expert Jonathan Ross himself to give you a guided your of their incredible work. The second part of our BAFTA special features some incredible Hollywood legends.
After watching the incredible 'Marriage Story' Dotty managed to stem the tears for just long enough to sit down with writer and director Noah Baumbach. They discussed everything from that infamous argument scene to the use of CGI in movies.
As if that wasn't enough, Jamie got the chance to spend some time in the same room as none other than Robert De Niro. In town to talk all things 'The Irishman', Robert was in a reflective mood - discussing working with long time collaborator and friend Martin Scorsese - as well as the infamous 'Irishman table read' of 2012. What a guy.
